The voices of our childhood icons
The voices of our childhood icons
First of all, I think all the princesses are amazing singers. I love and respect all the voice actresses and I'm truly grateful for all they've done for Disney.
10.Snow White
I know you're not surprised. I love her voice, I think it's very unique. But at the same time it can be extremely annoying. Have you seen the official Disney Princess website? Snow White's voice is ten times more annoying than it was in the movie. I like her voice but It's something I have to be in the mood for. Her best song is a Smile and a Song, I just love it.

9.Belle
Yeah, I never found Belle's voice to be all that great. She sounds better when she speaks in my opinion. To be fair her songs don't really require alot of singing talent. The only amazing songs are the title song and Be Our Guest, neither of which are sung by Belle. The only time I like her singing is that one scene where she sings to the sheep, she sounds heavenly.
Beautiful but not enough effort

8.Jasmine
Her voice is very poppy and generic, I can think of about three different singers with a voice like Jasmine's. Her singing voice is high pitched and girly in contrast with her speaking voice, whispering and sensual. Unfortunately, Jasmine only has one famous song to her name and even then she still has to share the spotlight. So she can only go so far in the countdown.

7.Mulan
One of my few countdowns where neither Mulan nor Jasmine make up my top two. She and Jas have the same singing voice obviously they're close in rank. But Mulan is higher on the list because she sings with power and real emotion. In the song Reflection you can really feel the pain and sorrow in her voice. Plus, she can really hold a note.
Passionate and Real

6.Aurora
Okay, I really don't like opera music and it's hard to find anyone who still does. But Aurora has the voice of an angel. I've noticed that Aurora does alot better in lists that have to do with superficial stuff, like her face, hair and voice. Her singing is extremely attractive, literally and I rarely get tired of listening to it.
Angelic and endearing

5.Tiana
The best thing about this mess of a movie is the music. Tiana's voice is wonderful, Thank God, Anika was chosen. Anyone else would have been awful, especially Tyra Banks. Her voice is mature like Belle's but has alot more spice and energy to it. Almost There is an amazing song with an amazing singer.

4.Rapunzel
Even though I DESPISE the songs in this film, I love Mandy Moore's voice. I critcized Jasmine's singing for being too poppy but Rapunzel's is alot more sophisticated. I love her singing in the Reprise. The way she says "feeling", it gives me goosebumps. She may be my least favorite but I will admit, she can sing.

3.Cinderella
My top three was hard! These three are sort of tied. One of the voices that basically defined Disney. Cinderella's voice is calming, soothing and one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. Ilene really put her soul into Cindy's singing, to the point where it almost brings me to tears. I'm thinking of putting her at #1 because Cinderella's voice is so inspiring.
Soothing but still enjoyable

2.Ariel
Ariel has the most adorable voice I have ever heard. It's just so cute and sweet. But it's also powerful and moving. Part of Your World is an awesome song but her talent really shines through in the Reprise. Ariel's voice is very addictive, I can't get enough. Jodi Benson is legendary and her voice is timeless.

1.Pocahontas
I know some people don't care for her voice but I love it. I love how powerful and striking it is. And it certainly helps that her movie has the best soundtrack. Colors of the Wind is one of my favorite songs, I listen to it all the time. Her voice is the perfect blend of softness and power. It's a shame Judy Kuhn doesn't get enough recognition because she really did an amazing job with Pocahontas.

I'm sure we all know how old most of the Disney Princesses are since we get to know it from their movies, but some of them has a different age in their original and some aren't even mentioned, but this is mainly what other have said, but it's also my guessings on some of them. Anyways enjoy!

Snow White:
There has been many discussions on how old she is in the Disney movie since it's never mentioned, but if you didn't knew it already she's 14 in the Disney version. In the original fairytale she's only 7 years old as most of us know, but did you knew that in most of the newer versions of the classic...

Alright, this is going to contain critical and possibly controversial opinions about Frozen and Tangled, as well as other things, so if you can't stand to hear these movies badmouthed I'd suggest that you skip this article. Now that you've been suitably warned, on with the article!

MARKETING

The first that you see of new Disney characters is almost always through promotional rendered images, so that's where we are going to start in this dissection of Disney's character design.

To begin, let's look at some of the earlier promotional art of Elsa and Anna:...
