It’s so obvious, it’s nearly ridiculous to write an article about it, but Aurora is the Princess of the month and it wouldn’t be right to exclude her, even if this will be a very brief article. I won’t even bother to make a pick this time around.

The flower which naturally symbolized Aurora the best is the rose. There are other flowers in the movie, most notable when the fairies jinx the arrows to protect Phillip, but the rose is connected to Aurora in so many ways: Her name during her stay with the Fairies is Briar Rose (based on the German version of the Fairy Tale, which is called “Dornröschen” (little thorny rose)), her lips “shame the red, red rose”, she even holds a red rose in her hand while she is asleep.
It’s a symbolism which works really well, since the rose in the movie is not a natural rose, but a cultivated one (in fact this rose didn’t even exist back then, but who cares, it’s a Fairy Tale). And Aurora herself isn’t a natural beauty either; she is so beautiful because the fairies spelled her this way. It’s somewhat funny that Flora considers turning her into a flower, thought she doesn’t specify which kind of flower.
The rose used in the movie is a red rose, which is very fitting, because it stands for “true love”. I’m slightly annoyed that nowadays Belle is more often connected with the red rose, while Aurora is left with the pink ones. But at least, the pink ones work, too. Light pink stands for desire, passion, joy of life, youth, energy, pink itself (I’m not sure if that is pink or light pink) stands for grace, which fits Aurora perfectly. Nevertheless, I’m slightly peeved that they stole her flower from her.

And, as always, the wallpaper (only one this time around).

Megara

Caricature / Gerald Scarfe

Now granted, Megara is not an official Disney Princess but I figure she is a prime example of caricature in a Disney film and where that overpowering style took little regard for the time period in which the story takes place. If animators attempted to use the art of caricature in Aladdin the film Hercules took it to the fullest extent.

This time the studio turned to another caricature artist link, brought to prominence for his work designing the Pink...

9.Sleeping Beauty: True love conquers all.
Coming in last place is Sleeping Beauty's moral, "True Love Conquers All". While many of us agree this would be a wonderful moral, it doesn't apply to real life. In real life, true love rarely conquers anything. Certainly in real life it wouldn't conquer something to the equivalent of Maleficent. While it's a wonderful moral that everyone wishes were true, sadly it isn't, which is understandably why it gained last place in our countdown.

"True love can't didn't conquere Hitler, 9/11, or the Vietnam War. Actually, the more I think about it, doesn't...

It's not like I actually wrote the article, come on, everyone knows how to copy and paste these days
It's not like I actually wrote the article, come on, everyone knows how to copy and paste these days
I posted this on the wall yesterday, but as wall messages get swallowed up pretty quick I decided to write it in a article. So, keep in mind I did not actually write this. Also, there are spoilers at the very end but I will give a thorough warning before that, and even smack a picture after the warning so you will not accidentally see the spoilers. But if you have already been reading the spoilers, it will be nothing new. Enjoy! :)

Intro

The two recent trailers from Frozen, starring Kristen Bell, broadway legend Idina Menzel, comedian Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff, gave the impression that something...

WTF? BOOM!
WTF? BOOM!
Hi guys, okay I noticed that there are photos of both Emma and Dan in their respective roles for the upcoming 2017 reboot of the Disney classic. I would like to voice out my disappointments with the movie, with the exception of Emma Watson (so please don't shoot me!).

Horrible Outfits

When I first saw the photo of the Beast and Belle dancing, it was a 'What the Fish' moment for everyone, not just me. I was expecting something very majestic like what they did with Cinderella.
As somebody had mentioned, this is only an early shot and so I maybe wrong about it. So please feel free to correct...
