Sofia is the newest Disney princess to join the gang! Modern Family star Ariel Winter will be doing her voice.

The princess will debut in the movie Sofia The First. Unlike other princesses, she's just a regular girl at the beginning. But then her mom marries the king, and Sofia has to get used to royal life and her new step-siblings, Amber and James.

Grey's Anatomy star Sara Ramirez plays Sofia's mom. Comedian Wayne Brady, and Project Runway mentor Tim Gunn also voice characters.

How cute is Sofia??

UPDATE: We forgot to include that Sofia is a princess for Disney Junior. A lot of you pointed this out in the comments - that's why she looks a little different!

Swanpride Seriously, this is either a hoax, a misunderstanding or a very stupid move of Disney. 1. Official Disney Princesses ONLY come from theatrical releases of the animation studios - the thought of adding a Pixar one is already questionable. But one from the toon channel? That's not only totally against the rules, there already is enough bad blood between the Animation studios and the Disney Toon studios (I'll call them that way to keep it simple, although it's a little bit more complicated), because they were NOT happy about the sequels and especially NOT happy about the fact that some of them got a limited theatrical release. 2. So far, I haven't seen an official Disney site with an announcement - wouldn't Disney announce something like that in it's own media first? 3. If the news is correct, than it's simply a character which happens to be a princess, NOT an official Disney Princess. There are a lot of Princesses in Disney movies and/or TV-Shows, who aren't part of the franchise.

Pink_Love @ Swanpride- they are making her. i saw a picture of her. if it was the real one they will use IDK. But she looks like a little girl. Which is why it will be a tv movie i think && then made into a show. I read in the article also that they will NOT be adding her to the line-up. They just want to make a show of her.

TigerRanma I heard about Sofia the First and yeah, she's a princess that will have a show on the Disney Channel but she won't be added to the line-up. Aww, she's coming out spring 2013. I was hoping it would premiere this coming spring.

tiagih Is she going to have her own movie yes is she going to have her own tv show yes is she going to be an official DP no but they might be branching off from that and making a new franchise like they did with Tinkerbell, its a show for little kids on Disney Junior teaching about social skills and what not.
