Before I go into the topic, I have to address one point: The newly added scenes in Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas. I’ll ignore both of them, since they weren’t in the original release. Believe me, it will work in favor of the movies in both cases. Also, Mulan is not in this list – Since there is no love song in that movie.

9: Princess and the Frog: I honestly considered that having no love song at all might be better than utilizing one so frightfully bad. Whoever thought that it would be a good idea to combine the wistful tune of Ma Belle Evangeline with two dancing frogs must have been drunk. In fact, combining a song about the longing for love with a couple who isn’t really in love yet is a very odd choice. The melody itself is a nice tune, but used this way it’s a fail. That Naveen and Tiana argue at the beginning of the song doesn’t help either.

Fanpop says: This one got voted as second worst and got not even one vote for the best. “It's a boring song and also forgettable.” (VGfan30)

8. The Little Mermaid: Don’t get me wrong, I love “Kiss the Girl” but I don’t think it’s particular romantic, take away the sea and the boat, and the lights and the result reminds me a little bit of cheerleading – Go, go, kiss the girl! Plus, there is actually a continuity error in it: Sebastian sings that Ariel will get her voice back when Eric kisses her, but that’s not the content of the contract. She gave away her voice as payment, there was nothing about her getting it back if she gets kissed during the three days.

Fanpop says: Not much. The song stayed somewhere in the middle in both votes.

7. Cinderella: I’m already at a stage at which it’s difficult to decide. “So this is Love” gets such a low placement because it does next to nothing to advance the plot. Yes, Cinderella loves the prince, and he loves her, love feels like heaven and it’s a very romantic scene – can we move on now?

Fanpop says: Not one best vote and a lot of worst votes. “I find this and Ma Belle Evangeline very forgettable.” (Milky-way). That was more or less the tenor of most of the comments.

6. Beauty and the Beast: It was really hard to decide where I should place this one. I finally settled on this place, because I think that the other songs are just a little bit better. I originally considered judging “Something there” in this category, but decided later on that it would fit elsewhere better. Nevertheless, I took into account that there already is a song about Belle and the Beast falling in love, which makes “Beauty and the Beast” a little bit unnecessary. But it’s not just about two people being in love, it’s kind of a Meta about Disney movies and fairy tales. It happened before, it will happen again, and it might happen in real life too. It’s difficult not to get sucked into this. It’s not on place six because I think it’s bad. The following are simply better.

Fanpop says: Another one which flew mostly under the radar.

5. Aladdin: I know this is one of the more popular songs. It’s an award winning song. The carpet ride scene is easily the most iconic in this movie. Music and Animation are in perfect sync during “A whole new world”. The way the music is descending and ascending to the carpet ride is perfect. So why is it so low on the list? Well, I think that other songs are more meaningful. It’s nice that Aladdin is ready to give Jasmine whatever she wants, to travel the world with her, but it’s also somewhat shallow compared to the deep feelings some other songs convey. It also does little to advance the plot – yes, Jasmine softens up to “Prince Ali” enough to actually talk to him, but the really important scene happens when they rest on a rooftop and she tricks him into revealing that they met before. I consider this song the best between those who actually made it into the movie, but in the category “Love Songs” it gets narrowly beaten by some of the others.

Fanpop says: I fear some people are now sharpening their tongues, because it got voted as the best. On the other hand, it was also voted forth worst, so perhaps I might survive the tongue lashing. *hides*

4. Snow White: “One Song” is one of the few love songs on this list which has a reprise (although said reprise is part of “Love’s first kiss”). And while this is not really one of the more popular songs, I think it deserves this spot for the way it gets utilized during the movie. The first time it’s at the beginning, when the prince woes Snow White. The second time is when he finds her presumably dead body. Both times he expresses his deep love for her, and only for her. It’s romantic the first time around, heart breaking the second time. And while most of the other songs I mentioned before have a “let’s take a break from the actual plot and just enjoy the music and the animation”-feel to it, this one doesn’t slow down the movie at all. It is nothing more and nothing less than the Prince’s confession of love, short and to the point.

Fanpop says: Yes, I really put the song which got voted as the worst on fourth place. There were a lot of comments on it being boring. “I like them all but this melody is so monotonous.” (fiina)

3. Tangled: Now, this is a song which really tells a story and is romantic nevertheless. The best part of “I see the light” is that both characters are in perfect balance. It tells the story of two people, who discover something about themselves. Rapuzel realizes that she allowed herself to get ruled by fear. Eugene realizes that in becoming Flynn Rider he lived a lie and that’s he want to get liked as Eugene. They have changed each other, but not in changing their personalities, but in giving each other strength and help them to overcome their own inner demons. When they join each other in the refrain they understand each other, and the voices blend into each other in perfect sync.

Fanpop says: This stuck in the middle, but it has some fans. “It just so beautiful and i cant believe that Zachary's and Mandy's can fit in each other that perfectly “(sheep2901)

2. Pocahontas: Every other movie would have gotten downgraded considerably for having the love song only in the end credits, especially since I’m normally not a big fan of the pop-versions they tend to use there. And truthfully, before I took a good look at those songs, I hadn’t really considered this one. But “If I never knew you” has easily the most meaningful message from all those songs. It’s not about being in love, or falling in love, or promises, it’s about the meaning of love. It says “Whatever will happen, meeting you has changed my life, and I don’t rue one second we spend together”. And for this movie, the placement is perfect. We hear the tune of the song when Pocahontas visits the imprisoned John Smith, and he encourages her although he thinks that he will die the very next day. Playing it in the end credits after Pocahontas and John Smith had to say good-bye to each other, is a very good reminder of this scene, and makes a bittersweet ending. For the same reason I’m not a fan of the newly added scene – this is one of the cases in which understatement works much better.

Fanpop says: I’m finally back in the trend. Third place for this one, and it got mentioned a couple of times as runner up.

1. Sleeping Beauty: I had a really hard time to decide between “Once upon a dream” and “If I never knew you”. The latter is, on the first hearing, more meaningful, so I put it on spot one first. But then I heard “Once upon a dream again” and suddenly realized, how true the text is. It acknowledges that reality sometimes can’t hold a candle to dreams, but Aurora and Philip simply don’t care, in this one moment they forget all their doubts. And isn’t this was love really is about? Forgetting the ifs and whens and taking a leap of faith? There are no guarantees in love, after all.
Another plus is the way the same text becomes a different meaning during this scene. First we have Aurora, who sings about her desire to meet the man of her dreams. And then we have Philip, who uses nearly the same words to convince her that he is said man and that she is the woman of his dreams.
And I admit it also helps that this scene and the ball scene at the end of the movie are easily between the best Disney ever animated. Yes, the scene with Belle and the Beast in the ballroom is memorable, too, but this one came first and is hand drawn. It’s such an impressive piece of animation.

Fanpop says: The only comment was a negative one: “I like it but they sing it many times and it's too repetitive for that.” (JosefS_girl24). But it also got voted as the second best.

Just wanted to add in more songs, but anyway hope you'll like this article :)

When I first heard this song I instantly thought of Snow White, it's mainly the happy feeling of the song that makes me think of her

link - Nightwish
I don't know exactly why, but this one makes me think of Snow White a lot, at first I thought this one suited Aurora and Belle the best, but the fast speed of it made me think of Snow White instead, seriously this one could suit pretty well into the Silly Song scene. This one could also suit Rapunzel quite well in that sense, but it has a more classic...

Mulan was happy to go back to school the next day. She knew for sure how well she did on all of her exams.

She walked down the hallway, talking with Jasmine again.

"Well, you seem much happier today," Jasmine said to her.

"I am," Mulan replied, "I'm sure I got a perfect score on all of the exams. I'm positive!"

"Well, you seem really confident," Jasmine replied back.

"I am," Mulan said.

Then a thought came to Mulan's head.

"Where has Aurora been? She's been gone for a while."

"I don't know. Did you try calling her?"

"She doesn't pick up. Hm. Well anyways, I'm going to class, bye."

"Goodbye." And...

Mulan was still struggling in school. She couldn't manage to bring home any good grades, at all. Her parents had told her that she needed to bring her grades up.

Meanwhile, Snow White had just escaped from the woman, when she ran straight into Mulan when walking down the street.

"Whoops! Sorry!" Snow White said, apologizing about this to Mulan.

"Oh, it's fine!" Mulan replied to her, "I didn't see you coming."

"You look really stressed. Are you okay?" Snow White asked her.

How could she know that I'm upset? Mulan wondered to herself.

"Oh, yeah. It's no big deal though, don't worry."

"Are you sure?...

"Okay, so where do they keep the security camera footage?" Belle asked Ariel.

"They keep them on the top floor of the hospital, I think." Ariel responded to her.

"Wow, that's a long trip. How are we going to make it without people catching us?"

"I don't know, but I'm positive that we can pull it off. Are you worried?"

"Well, yeah. What would happen if they catch us?"

"I don't know. We're hospital patients, they pity us. Right?"

"I don't want to use pity as an excuse."

"Ugh, let's just go."

"Okay, fine."

The two set off, walking slowly and carefully.

"Okay, we have to go up four floors to get there."...

Part 1:link

I quickly put my gloves back on and sat on my window railing. My face was cold and my blonde hair was up in a ponytail. The wind blew against my face, but I didn’t care. I wanted to tell Anna about my powers, but not more than I wanted to protect her. The outdoors was a slate of nothingness. Not one person in sight, and the moon glowed brighter than the stars. I got some paper and drew. When drawing, I improvised a lot, but tonight I drew exactly what I see. That’s how I wanted people to see me: exactly how I look. I hate having everything locked up. I stared back out into the...

Belle was walking home from school. Another perfect day for her- everything was always perfect for her. No enemies or bullies, no horrible teachers, no hard classes, nothing was a trouble for her. Ever.

She walked down the street, people greeting her, telling her to have a nice day.

Wonderful day as usual. Belle thought to herself. Well, I have studies to get to, I might as well get home.

She walked home, went inside, yelled to see if her father was home yet, I guess they're not and started to work on homework that she had that day.

"Okay so-" Belle started to say, until the lights oddly dimmed....

It's time for my first fan-fiction! *Trumpets sound* First of all, the first chapter is slow, and boring. So suffer through the first one and it will get better!:D The story is about Elsa(<33) when she was 15. It's about how she feels about Anna and there is a boy :3. Stay tuned for more!
Without further adue... Here is the first chapter to a (most likely) horrible fan-fic.

I sat on the window railing staring out at the snow. Children from the villages building snowmen, sledding, and having snowball fights. I ran over to my door and looked out the eyehole. All clear. I ran back to my window...

Hi, All. I've tried to avoid writing articles for a long while, mostly because I'm busier, and secondly, because it takes forever to explain the "why" behind statements.
Today, because I am bored I'm going to stick with trying to examine my impressions of each of the DP movies, and their princesses, (with a sidebar about the princes). This is the first article in a series of 13 articles. (Disclaimer: These are just my opinions, mind you, and not completely shared by everyone. My life experiences have colored my perspectives on each princess, so the take-away message is that my opinions are...

Hours later, everyone was prepping for Mulan's surprise dinner party. Ling, Yao, and Chien Po informed the princesses about the special occasion and they wanted to lend in a helping hand. The princesses cooked, the men did the heavy-duty work, and Pocahontas and Merida kept Mulan distracted. "Does your family really think it's going to be twins?" Pocahontas asked about the queen's pregnancy. "We do. Just in case it's not, we're only sayin' one baby." Merida answered. "It's good not to second-guess." Mulan replied. Pocahontas and Merida turned shell shocked.

"You haven't spoken like that all...

Even though Aurora has been moving down my list a little bit lately I still love her very much

I love her kind of suspicious look when the fairies are planning her birthday party, she seems to sort of know what they're up to

I love how dreamy she is, she almost constantly talks about the prince she met in her dreams, this leads me to something else that I love about her, how femenine she is, she's basically a...
