Disney Princess Question

Can someone explain to me why and how some fans consider Alice to be an unofficial princess?

She didn’t do anything heroic and she didn’t marry a prince. I don’t understand. Could someone please enlighten me?

This is not complaint about Alice winning unofficial princess of the moth.

I only consider Kida, Ariel’s sisters, Giselle and Megara to be unofficial princesses.

Sorry for typos and I also consider Anna and Elsa to be unofficial princesses or rather Queens now.

I consider her an unofficial princess because of her being the lead of a Disney movie, especially in a fairy tale type film.

Heck I'm pretty sure she either was in the lineup at some point a long time ago or was considered to be part of the lineup but it didn't go through

I heard Esmeralda and Tinkerbell were in the lineup and some point not Alice.

I would imagine it has to do with her being the protagonist of a Disney movie. People also try to say Nala is (even though she isn't human).

Also, I agree with your list. I would just add Esmeralda. Kida, Megara, and Giselle should also definitely count as unofficial princesses.

I know this is late, but it's because she (along with Tinkerbelle, and Esmerelda) appeared in a handful of DP merchandise.
