Why are Pocahontas and Mulan considered princesses???

I do think there is a commercial and consumer reason to Disney adding Pocahontas and Mulan to the Disney Princess line-up. One good reason why they are on there is to give gives from across races and cultures a person to look up to. They are given more spotlight to showcase variety and differences. I think the princess line-up is more about heroines and a select few chosen to represent some of the Disney heroines. If they added all of the Disney heroines as princesses it would not be a special thing anymore. Some of the Disney heroines might actually be more "qualified" because they are a princess or marries one or dates one. Pocahontas is the chiefs daughter, she is the princess of her people. Mulan is the savior of China, not a princess but as a hero of China she is considered more special than a princess (in China). These are the reason I think Pocahontas and Mulan are in the Disney Princess line-up. I think that all the heroines are great and because this type of fan base excepts other heroines as Disney Princesses. That they are considered that by this fan base makes them so, even if they are not recognized my their major organizations.

Pocahontas is a Native American Princess (her father is the chief of her people so the settlers considered her father a king of his people and her their princess)....I wondered the same thing about Mulan and have never really considered her a princess, but Disney has included her and I have accepted this....

Because Disney says so I don't think they should be in the line because they don't fit to me. They should be thier own Disney movie not a DP movie

1.sing in there movie.
2. have been the main protagonasit in the movie
3. and to have lines
which mulan all fallowes the criteria

well phocanhontis is daughter of a chief who is the leader of the Indian people so she is a princess and Nancy, and eilonwy had unpopular movies, kida although she was a princess its far fetched and melodie is e secondary chariter even though she had a movie based around her that would not have happened if it wasn't for her mother Arial,
i think mulan is considered a princess because shes so famous it is an extremely popular movie and mulan is a very important charter in all the princesses

Pocahontas is the daughter of an Indian cheif. That's kind of like a king. So that makes her an Indian princess. Mulan on the other hand was never born to royalty or married royalty but she was given the chest of the emperor. Besides Disney says that you don't have to royal to be a princess, it's those kind qualities that make you one.

The requirements for being a Disney princess are as such:
born royal or married into royalty or have committed an Act of Heroism.
Must be human, and the lead female in the Disney movie, also must be animated.
And CAN NOT have been introduced in a sequel.

Mulan committed an Act of Heroism, I actually think they added this requirement so they could count her as a Disney princess.
As for Pocahontas, I'm not sure, she is considered a Disney princess. This is either because the hierarchy in her tribe is close enough that it can be considered royal, or she kinda did commit an Act of Heroism (by stopping her tribe from entering a senseless war)

While Poca is the chief´s daugther,Mulan is not a princess at all. But their movies are popular and they add etnic diversity to the franchise. (at that time Jasmine was the only non white DP )
And they sing,also considered good role models
Kida is a princess,a good model but she doesn't sing and her movie (that by the way i do like) is not popular enougth. Melody is from a sequel and half of the audicence doesn't like it. Eilonwy´s movie is not popular ,unfair since she was the first rebellious princess.
And if Nancy became a member of the line up,they probably should pay Idina Menzel the character´s image (pretty much the reason why Giselle isn't in the movies either)

According to Disney Wiki it's because of their high statuses. The reason why the ones you listed isn't in the lineup because: Kida and Ellonwy's film wasn't successful enough, Melody was apart of a sequel, not the first movie, and they base it on the first movie rather than the sequel. Nancy, I don't know who she is so I don't know why she would be excluded from the lineup.
