Disney Princess Question

Am I the only person that thought Tangled was the saddest Disney movie EVER[CGI movie ever]

Every single time I watch this film and when I watch the part where Eugene died I start breaking down in tears litreally and then im like yeah his alive.

Saw it 12 times and I love this movie.

Does anyone else agree or disagree with me on this one.

For me, the saddest is Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, and Sleeping Beauty. Sleeping Beauty because of all the romance, and Hercules because it just shows how much people can be to each other and how much I want that. :'( But HOND is SO realistic, and just.. perfect. So many want to do horrible things like rape women and destroy towns, and there are so many with less hope. There's always a special someone, and OH. MY. GOD... Bells Of Notre Dame can just cause all of the emotions to come back. The ending, is TOO POWERFUL. Ok, Hunchback rant done.

I agree with about The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's defintely one of the saddest (and darkest) Disney movies. But, @LisaForde2 was specifically talking about computer generated movies in this question. Otherwise, I'd have to say Bambi is probably one of THE saddest Disney movies, along with The Lion King.

I don't know... I cry every time I watch that scene, too. But I think the scene in Toy Story 3 was sadder.

It's pretty heart wrenching but definitely not the saddest for me. I agree with the person above me, Toy Story 3 made me cry

Although THAT particular scene is incredibly sad and shatters my heart into million tiny pieces every time I watch it (Especially during the "You were my new dream" - "And you were mine" part), but I don't think the movie in general is the saddest Disney movie, I thought it had a lot of funny moments and I laugh so hard when I rewatch it despite seeing this movie for about 10 times already.

When I actually analyze the whole situation though... with Rapunzel being basically a prisoner of an insane obsessive woman whom she believed to be her mom and who used her for her selfish purposes for 18 years, emotionally pressuring and abusing her for all these years while her real parents were suffering every day thinking about their lost daughter, plus Eugene's story was pretty sad too with him being an orphan and having no parents to look at him with love and joy like it happened with Rapunzel in the end, including during their wedding, I start viewing the whole story as a pretty sad one actually, despite the tradictional happy ending.

Nowhere *near* as sad as Dumbo, Bambi, Fox and the Hound, The Lion King & Pocahontas (among others) in my opinion.

If we're talking CGI Disney movies then I find Toy Story 3, Up & Monsters Inc more sad than Tangled.
