Since the accident with the food, Ariel has been thinking about Jim more than ever before. She was so grateful that Jim was sweet enough to help her clean up her dress. Little did the red-head know that Jim was thinking about her too.
"Mom I'm home!" he shouts as he enters the Benbow Inn after a busy day of picking up garbage.
"Hello Jim!" Mrs. Hawkins calls from inside of the kitchen.
Ariel comes out from the kitchen, wearing an old dress that used to belong to Mrs. Hawkins. Her fiery-red hair is in a low ponytail and the skirt of the beige dress waving in the slight breeze from the door. Jim sees Ariel and she blushes as she catches his sight.
"Good afternoon Jim." she greets him as she sets an order on a baby's table. Jim enters the kitchen and grabs a plate with what looks like spaghetti. Mrs. Hawkins notices that Jim is in an extra-good mood than the one he's normally in.
"What's up with you?" she teases while holding a spatula.
Jim doesn't answer his mother's question. He just looks up at the sky with a dreamy look on his face.
"Ahh! I know that look, Jim. You're in love."
Jim snaps out of la-la land and crosses his arms as he sets the plate down.
"I am not!"
"You're not what?" Ariel suddenly walks into the kitchen and asks as she sets some dirty dishes down.
"I'm not..." Jim tries to stall.
"Jim's not a good dancer." His mother quickly responds.
At first, Jim is relieved but then he feels like strangling his mother.
"Oh? That's too bad." Ariel says, feeling sorry for Jim.
"Why don't you teach him?"
"NO!" Jim mouths.
"I'd be glad to!" Ariel exclaims with glee.
"Come on!" She grabs onto Jim's wrist and she pulls him outside.
When they arrive outside, Jim has a bad feeling about the lesson.
"First, hold onto my hand and set your hand on my waist. Like this."
Ariel instructs Jim and she takes Jim's hand and put the other on her waist.
"Now, pretend there's music going on. Dance to the beat."
Jim and Ariel sway to the beat the song that Ariel is humming. They are both chest-close and they look dreamily into the others eyes. Before they knew it, they were kissing.
As the kiss is over, Jim chuckles nervously. But Ariel only smiles.
