PrincessBelle2 said:
A lot of classic Disney films have scary moments in - top 3 I'd say were the Coachman turning the boys into donkeys scene in Pinocchio, many of the moments in Dumbo, particularly the Pink Elephants scene and the vultures in Snow White.

I didn't really watch Dumbo as a child because the pink elephants scared me and I didn't like the way the Circus people treated him and his mother. Same thing with Pinocchio. To many dark moments for me. But the one that scared me the most was the Night on Bald Mountain segment in Fantasia. I would always stop Fantasia at that point. Only watched the end of Fantasia like three times tops in my entire life. Watched the rest of Fantasia a lot more than that.

Mine's probably Clayton's death. It crept me out when I saw the silhouette of his hanging body. Also Hades' death (?) realizing that he would forever be stuck in the pool of souls.

Definitely the scene where the boys turn into donkeys in Pinocchio. That scene is traumatizing. It's the reason I don't drink or smoke.

The Mr. Hyde scene from The Pagemaster, I would hide under the covers as a kid and even though it wasn't in the movie I would imagine him saying "There's no place to hide". This scene actually still really scares me, every time I watch the movie I'm paranoid for a while.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Hunchback of Notre Dame. That movie always terrified me and my brother as a kid. I especially was scared at the bit where Frollo falls from Notre Dame into the flames, and that still spooks me nowadays now I understand the symbolism behind that scene. Frollo's song 'Hellfire' also scared me.

Mine has got to be the hair moment from Tangled, when Rapunzel ties Flynn Rider up. It is one of the most horrifying moments from my childhood.
