When Adrian finally left i had an overwhelming urge to run after him and drag him back, but i couldn't. It would be safer for him if he was back at the court. I would miss him though. Although something he had said had caught my interest. Dimitri had been trying to find me...I wanted to know what was happening at the court so i quickly slipped into Lissa's head.
She was in her room with Christan and Dimitri. They were apparently waiting for news about me...Of course. Lissa was freaking out, she was anxious and worried and angry. She was angry at me for just leaving her - AGAIN - and not even saying goodbye. She was hurt which i felt bad about.
"I just don't understand Rose. Why did she leave this time?" Christian's voice suddenly broke through her thoughs. He did had a point though. No-one knew why i had left.
Dimitri sighed and both Lissa's and Christians eyes instantly flew to him "It's my fault." He finally admitted, he even seemed ashamed
"No it's not. Don't be so hard on yourself. She understood why you couldn't see her." Lissa replied trying desperatly to cheer him up, though she had assumed that's why i had left aswell.
"No it is...i-she talked to me just before she took off. She came and found me at the church..." a tear ran down Dimitri's cheek. Lissa, Christan and even i was shocked by that. He hardly ever cried.
"And...What happened?" Christan asked.
"I-I told her...I told her that I'd given up on her - and that my love for her had faded..." He now had a steady stream of tears rolling down his face. I could see the pain in his eyes as he recalled the event at the church and in my body back at the hotel room i could feel tears running down my face as-well.
The room went silent. No-one spoke again until there was a light knock at the door. Lissa flew up and opened it, hoping that it was news about me...It was Adrian. I hoped that he wouldn't tell them where i was. He quickly walked inside, sitting down on the floor.
Lissa was the first to speak, "So have you like...talked to Rose?" She questioned Adrian
He nodded "I visited her dreams last night...and i found her today," great now they would come looking for me "She was at a hotel in town."
Everyone in the room simutaneously breathed a sigh of relief.
"Come on then, we have to go and bring her back." Lissa said exitedly as she rushed over to the door. No-one else moved "What?" She questioned
Dimitri was the only one to answer "If he found her she would be long gone by now.." Well technically that wasn't true.
"Yeah i know that but we still have to try. What if she get's herself hurt or-or even killed." Lissa yelled "We have to bring her back, NOW"
Everyone was surprised at Lissa's sudden burst of anger that they all quickly agreed and before i knew it they were out the door and about to leave the court...looking for me.
As fast as i could i pulled out of Lissa'a head and back into my own and quickly started to pack my stuff. When they got here i had to be long gone. Sure Dimitri knew me almost better than i knew myself so he would probably know right away where i would go...even though i still had no idea. After packing my stuff i left the hotel room and checked out.
Standing outside i still had no idea where to go but after quickly checking in on Lissa again, i knew i had to move quickly. They were leaving the court and it wouldn't take them long to get here. The town wasn't that far away and had only taken me hours to get to because i was walking, they had a car and it was fast.
Looking around i saw a place where i could rent a car and after a quick discussion with the sales guy - and showing him i had money, and plenty of it - he reluctantly gave me a car. It was a black jeep and although it wasn't brand new it still ran really good and before i knew it i was driving away form the small town, heading towards nothing in particular. I didn't know many places around here so i just kept driving and hoped for the best.
As it got darker and i grew tired i decided to pull over and get a room at another hotel. I used Adrian's credit card again. I was past caring about them finding me. Once i was in the room i had a quick shower - not changing into my pajamas, just in case i had to get out of their fast the next morning - and then climbed into the massive bed.
Once i was nice and warm i finally drifted into one of Adrian's dreams. well he had warned me.
Tonight we were back in the hotel room that he had found me in that morning. And even though i was happy to see him i was annoyed.
He had told them where to find me, even though he said he wouldn't make me go back!
"Hey Little dhampir." He smiled, although it was a cautious smile. Like he thought i was going to attack him at any moment.
I scowled at him "Why did you tell them where i was? I thought you said you weren't going to make me go back!"
"Exactly!" He said. I was confused "Exactly what?" I asked
He sighed "I said i wasn't going to make you go back. I never said i wouldn't let other people bring you back."
I groaned, he was right. I never made him promise to not tell anyone where i was. I should have thought of that.
He smiled "So... Any chance you'll tell me where you are now?"
That made me laugh "There is NO chance that i'm going to tell you where i am."
"Fine. I guess i should get back to the others. I'll see you the next time you go to sleep." He winked as he disappeared, along with the dream.
I couldn't get back to sleep after that so i decided to check on Lissa.
They were in a car, still driving. I couldn't make out any of there surroundings, it was too dark. Christan was asleep, Dimitri was driving and Adrian had just woke up.
"So?" Lissa pried
"So...she wouldn't tell me where she was AND she know's we're looking for her." Adrian replied
"HM, so that means..." Dimitri interrupted her "It means that Rose is checking on us. I wouldn't be surprised if she's in your head right now."
Lissa sighed "So how do we get to her without her knowing?"
Dimitri shrugged "I have no idea, and when i do get an idea...Well, i'm not going to say anything to you. No offense Lissa but if she's in your head she will know anything that we plan to do."
Lissa nodded "I know. Stupid bond. I wish i could get in her head!"
Sitting up Lissa realized she had no idea where they were..."Dimitri? Where are we?"
He smirked "I told you, i can't tell you."
"Well then what can you tell me?" She sighed, clearly frustrated that she wasn't allowed to know anything.
Laughing he replied "I can tell you that we are stopping for the night. There is a hotel just up the street."
Looking out the window Lissa could just see the glow of lights and as they got closer she could see the sign. She didn't want to stop though. All she wanted to do was to find me and go back to the court. And i felt the same way. Well not about them finding me of course. I wanted them to keep driving because they were about to pull into the exact same hotel as me.
I got out of Lissa's head and ran over to the window. They couldn't be here. It just wasn't possible, but there they were. All three of them piling out of their car.
"Shit" i muttered. What was i going to do? Well i had to get out duh. But first i needed to make sure they didn't know i was there. I slipped into Lissa's head one more time.
They were buying a room.
"These your kids?" The guy behind the desk asked.
Dimitri just looked at him, clearly unsure how to answer that. Lissa stepped in "No, his our older brother. We're driving to our friends wedding."
Thankfully for them the guy wasn't too bright "Ah, OK. I was just curious. A lot of young kids are here today. A girl just check in not too long ago."
That instantly caught Adrian's interest "Really? What did she say her name was?"
The guy shrugged "She didn't give me a name...Why"
"We're actually looking for our friend. Can you tell me what room she's in?" he questioned
The guy gave him a weird look, then checked a sheet of paper "Uh, room 17."
"Shit!" I muttered again, once i was in my own body.
I had to get out of their fast. I could hear them making there way towards my room already. They were fast. BUT i happened to be faster. Grabbing my bags i ran to the bathroom and quickly climbed out the window, throwing my bags out in front of me. Just when i was through the window i heard the front door being kicked open and people shouting my name.
I quickly and silently made my way to the car park. I didn't make a single noise as i walked. I could see all of them standing outside my room, obviously they had realized that i had escaped them. I didn't stop moving the whole time. I hopped into the jeep, still not making any sounds - well at least i thought i hadn't - until all three of their heads snapped up, all of them looking straight at me.
Turning the key the jeep burst to life and i was out of their. Looking in the review mirror i could see that they were doing the same. Plus their car was faster than mine. I had no chance to escape, still i kept driving.
The chase was on.
