Lesson 3: Differentiating the Kansai-ben to the Standard Japanese accent
Yo, minna! Saijou here. Now, what ya all witnessed is a normal conversation of a Kansai-ben-speaking person and a Standard Japanese-speaking person. Do ya all notice the differences like I told ya during the previous lesson? This time, this is a new topic. I will give ya some examples of some sentences. Later, I will give ya guys a test. Just make sure don’t scroll up again and avoid editing your answers, OK? Good. Well then, here are some examples:
Sentence: I don’t like to.
Kansai-ben: Iya ya.
Standard Japanese Accent: Iya da yo.
Sentence: Something’s strange...
Kansai-ben: Nanka hen ya de...
Standard Japanese Accent: Nanka hen da yo...
Sentence: My head hurts!
Kansai-ben: Atama ga ittai ya!
Standard Japanese Accent: Atama ga itte yo!
Sentence: Don’t worry.
Kansai-ben: Anshin shirou ya.
Standard Japanese Accent: Anshin shirou.
Kansai-ben: Shinpai surun ya de.
