My life, don't get me wrong is great, but weird, like never had anything sorted out weird. Well, up until...
"Autumn, Hurry up, love! You're going to be late!!"
"I'm coming, mom!"
I run downstairs still putting on my jacket with a toothbrush hanging out of my mouth, run right past my mom into the kitchen. I finish brushing my teeth over the sink, drink a glass of water, realize my coat is on upside down, fix it, then run out to the car where my mom is waiting impatiently. I get in, put on my seatbelt, and my mom turns and looks at me. Oh great, I think, She's gonna give me one of those 'you need to know how to get yourself ready on time' talks again.
"You really need to learn how to get yourself ready on time, love. We can't keep being late to things all the time just because you didn't have time to put your book down, and run down the stairs."
"Hey!" I say, "That's not what happened! I didn't have time to put my phone down!"
She rolls her eyes and we ride in silence for a few minutes.
I finally look at her, then turn on the radio.
"Here's Declan with Love of My Life." The lady on the radio station says in German.
My mom looks at me, and I give her a questioning look. Then I realize she doesn't speak German. and that she seems to have forgotten that I do.
"Don't worry, mom. All of the songs are in English, just not the things they say, which aren't important anyways. The things they say, not the songs."
She nods.
I listen to Declan's song for a minute, then remember where we're going. The whole reason we're even in Germany. We're seeing Declan in concert! I smile, and my heart pounds. I have close seats (as in like, front row, right in the center) and I get to meet him afterwards. Last, but still get to meet him.
I think for a minute, and listen to his gorgeous voice.
I hear meeting him last is always the best, because then you get the most time to see him. I sure hope that's right, that would be amazing.
As we pull up to the concert hall, I realize that we've come way early on account of no traffic, and that the time reads 6:00pm and the concert starts at 7:00pm.
I give my mom an annoyed look."Really, mom? You made me drop everything and rush myself out the door, JUST so we could be an hour early?"
She smiles and says, "Well, we don't have to worry about parking, though, do we?"
