ONLY in the context that yes, it IS better to have two people raise a child then the child having no one.

This is, of course, true. There have been scant few studies that compare the effectiveness of same sex parents to opposite sex parents (though a lot of conservative groups have made up their minds about that without any proof), but growing up without parents is infinitely worse than growing up with parents that love you, even if they just so happen to be the same sex.
