I'm assuming you're referring to link.

I don't think it's sexist at all. It's true, men and women have different traits, and the women are portrayed with different priorities than the men, but I don't see that as offensive at all. The women are also depicted as more mature and able to handle things than the men. The men are portrayed as childish guys who never grew beyond the maturity level of a teenage boy.

However, this is all at the start of the film! By the end of the film, Heigl's character learns to laugh at Rogan's characters jokes, and Rogan steps up to the plate to become a mature, responsible father.

The movie isn't sexist, or if it is, then it's sexist against both men AND women. But even if it starts out that way, the characters grow. I, for one, really enjoyed the movie. I thought it had a great ending.

I forget who said it (I'm leaning towards DrDevience) but somewhere I heard that you can find prejudice in everything if you go looking for it. It never ever occurred to me to think of Knocked Up as sexist until I read Heigl's remarks.

ah thanks cinders for the info!*wishes people would put links*

i dont think heigls remarks suggest she thinks its sexist- maybe a bit cliche!? did she actually say "sexist"? or was that the magazine summing her words up?

as cinders said the characters learn from each other in the course of the movie..i didnt think it was a particularly good film anyway :P

'For the luva Odin...

If you want to see racism, you will see racism. Period. Racism will not end until everyone quits looking for it where it isn't. '

(yeah she said racism, but it also works for sexism and I think the doctor will think the same about this)
