Just a quick note on the pictures:
The 'I agree'-pic is of the debate-team of a friend of mine after they won some competition, the 'I disagree'-pic is of my former high school. In case anyone was wondering :P

About the question:... to tired, I'll respond later!

I disagree, because high school is the time you hit puberty. Things change. Change brings stress, stress makes you feel bad. Plus, you get insecure about a ton of stuff, mostly the opposite sex. Insecurity will make you feel bad as well.

Personally I am enjoying going to college a lot more, but i was also a skinny nerd in high school (still am, but it matters less when you get older, its called character)

I suppose it's a personal question. But in my own experience, things didn't get interesting until I turned 19 or so.

that would be seriously pathetic. if all goes well, you live for another 60-odd years after you graduate high school, maybe more. if the best times of your life happened before 20, it'd be a pretty sad 60 years.

Yeah, I'm in college and I'm pretty sure I'm still looking forward to the best years of my life. I expect them to be my 30s, 40s, later even. Like when I find true love, and have my first kid and stuff.

Next week I will be going to university, so I don't have anything to compare to high school (except elementary) yet.
However, the first few years of high school were hell, but my last few years were amazing. I changed as a person, I made one friend I dearly love and another friend and I, who have known each other since we were babies, became closer. I just... the last few years of high school made me evolve into a person I can be okay with, instead of the person I was at first, whom I hated.

Maybe in a few years, when I have more material for comparison, I will answer this question differently, but for now this is my answer.

College is going to be even worse. Trust me, it's hard to find real friends since you will meet new and new people. The boundaries are too set aside.

trust me, some one actually at college it's not so hard to make new friends there, college is a more much friendly enviroment, it doesn't have specific groups of people as much as high school did and so you can be friend with who ever you like

i feel sad for anyone who's best years were in high school, I'm a optimist, I'm hopefully thinking life will be like a good wine, gets better with age....until you cork

@amazondebs:
Is that true though, did everyone here who went to highschool have a school with a clique problem?

I don't know if it was my school only, or if it's just a cultural thing, because we didn't have any groups. Well, only the gothic/emo group, but they chose to seperate themselves. In the first two years we had a clear popular/not popular divide, but around my third year that started to vanish and the last three years it had disappeared completely.
We didn't have jocks, popular kids, outsiders, etc.

Depending on how it was for you, you childhood is the best time. It's what you grow looking back on. No matter how tired you get of cartoons, you'll always love the ones you grew up with (that happened to my dad, he still likes Tom and Jerry). It's the time when you can fool around and people won't give you dirty looks.

amazondebs picked I disagree.:
we didn't have a clique problem like it was so and so vs so and so but a lot of people stuck to specific group, probably because they were friend they have known since junior school and they felt safe with them
college wasn't like that because hardly anyone had many friends to come up with them, so we was all starting afresh

dada while i think childhood is brilliant because everything is new, you don't have knowledge and lessons and their is always something you have never tried before
you can still fool around when you older but you have other joys like marriage, parties, children or even i dunno something stupid like being able to ride what ever roller coaster you want or going bungee jumping

Then again, I'm still in high school, so what do I know? But so far, high school has been great. Hopefully life doesn't go downhill from here :)

High school was 11 years ago for me..
and even though I was only there for a couple years I liked college better.
Then I moved out of state and worked as a bartender for a year and had even more fun and met lots of interesting people. Now I'm a mom and my children are the most fascinating and fun people I've ever met. I think my best times are yet ahead.

At least, I hope it isn't. Because I don't go to public school, so if it is, then I'm missing out on the best time of my life!

The choices are too black and white for me. I loved my high school experience, made great friends and memories. Yet, the best time of my life? Maybe of my life thus far at that moment in time, but not my whole life period. Right now, I love the college experience a whole lot better (granted, I can live away from home!)

For the clique question, we never had cliques in my high school. Groups, sure but, not social barriers and caste systems.

I think most people on this site are in high school or younger. Of course most of them won't agree with that statement. Once you graduate, believe me--I didn't trust those who told me this either!--you'll probably look back and miss it like crazy. At least parts of it, at any rate. :p I'm in college and I loved high school quite a bit more. Not what one might have anticipated, but...

fishypup, I'm in college and I can say I do not miss high school one tiny bit. It was the worst years of my life. And I found it ten times easier to make friends at college than high school.

I think I'm too optimistic. But in terms of what's coming (work, mortgage, bills etc) it seems pretty good.
But it definitely sucks at times.

Katiecain, I'm glad you're enjoying college. I am too, pretty much. (But if anyone thinks s/he knows what stress is during high school...JUST YOU WAIT 'til you get to college...if you get there!!!) I just figured that we tend to fail to appreciate experiences until we're past them, and many people do realize only later how golden their high school years were. But for others, they were mainly crappy. Sorry that yours were. There are things and people I definitely do not miss dealing with nearly every day. But still, I get hella nostalgic for my elementary, middle school, and high school life.

Well it depends on that person's experience.

For me when I was around the age of 9 it was the best time of my life.
