Don't know about you guys but I still can't see DE's scene as a -break up- as most people do... I just... I don't know but it doesn't feel like a break up. Maybe it's because Damon wasn't as harsh as he was with Charlotte. I mean, obviously he'd use stronger words towards Charlotte than Elena, but Damon didn't tell Elena to forget about him, never think of him again, never talk to him, never call him... he said go home. So I'm surprised at how much I loved the episode. Damon letting Elena go was beautiful, and I don't feel at all annoyed about it. Just think, if Damon and Elena stay together now, there's less chance of them being the endgame. I like Stefan (or I did), but his spoiled immaturity is showing. Damon never reacted the way Stefan is to losing Elena over 3 seasons. I kind of like the idea that the only way to break the sire bond made from love would be similar to the way to break a hybrid's sire bond. They had to have no reason to be grateful any more and the equivalent to that would be Elena not *feeling* anything any more. Loved DELENA in this episode! Damon really is selfless, and I think he's proven by now to be the far more mature and selfless brother than Stefan. Elena's going to fight for him!
