Stelena fans always say that Stefan truly loves Elena because he not only tries to protect Elena, but her friends as well and they say that Damon doesn't truly love Elena because he doesn't protect her friends.

That was proved wrong today when Damon saved Caroline and Tyler.

He knows how much Elena loves them. Before he wouldn't give a damn but now, Elena's love has opened his heart to friendship and trust. :)

2x20 showed that Damon and Elena are both on journeys in love..Damon learning how to deal with it and Elena learning what it really is…Damon already learned what it is but he doesn’t know how to handle it cause he’s never had it returned….Elena has had it returned but she doesn’t know quite yet what TRUE love is.
