Random thought about DE's story: I think that Damon's 'death' was deliberate. Obviously with one final season to go, they've got to create more angst and that means DE will be separated before they can have their happy ending/endgame. Because the writers know that there's no real way DE can be separated in life, they went for Damon 'dying'. Secondly, there's absolutely no way forward for SE romantically now.
