For those of you who watched last nights new episode 'The Lesson', did you understand the beginning?

I didn't. I didn't get what it had to do with the rest of the episode. They didn't even talk about the hospital scene. Just wondering if you understood it.

The man who woke up and screamed and stuff was the UnSub. I think he woke up from a coma or something and was yelling for his father..? I forgot, it's been awhile since I've watched it and I do not want to watch The Lesson again (it creeped me out).
