Weird ol' funky A key. I was just randomly thinking of this, but my first clarinet was a cheap one. The A key was messed up. Sometimes it would be bended downward and barely open. Other times it would play great. It was really annoying. This article is really just saying don't get a cheap clarinet, if you plan to stay in the clarinet. Because one ITS INSANELY ANNOYING two, when it starts getting really bad you have to take it to the shop. and 3, at first if you tell the director/teacher it's not your fault its the instrument, they'll probly cut you some slack at first, but not to long. And you'll get a bad ranking/chair.
