Christianity Question

What do you do for really bad spiritual lows?

I just need some ideas. I just feel terrible. I know I can pray, but it doesn't help, and I can't bring myself to anymore. I have doubts all the time. Nothing I do seems to help. How do you do it?

I keep a journal of my experiences, beliefs, dreams, and poetry. When I'm feeling doubtful, a lot of times I'll read back through my journal.

I also talk to people who believe the same thing I do. Everyone has doubts, so talking to people who've worked through them helps a lot.

I also meditate/reflect on what's going on. Sometimes my doubts come when my depressions peaks, sometimes it's brought on by stress, and sometimes it's brought on by lack of spiritual activity (praying, ect). Going through all that, and then working through what's causing the issue (if I can), helps a lot too.

I don't know what the Christian view is on having an altar in the home, but I have one for my Centre god and his family. When I'm feeling doubtful, I'll go there and give offerings, or sometimes just tinker and rearrange the things that are there.

For me I always find answers or atleast reassurance through reading the scriptures and praying for answers while doing so. Also one of the most strengthing things I've found is serving the homeless or poor, try finding a ministry near you and volunteering the joy that some of the people you serve have is just eyeopening. And never be ashamed to talk to other blievers, I'm here if you want to talk just message me, the faith of others, helps strengthen your own :) Hope I helped
