The singer warned a Twitter user that he could go to jail, after threatening to “kill” her mum.
X Factor star Cher Lloyd has angrily retaliated after a user on social networking site Twitter threatened to “kill” her mum.
The Swagger Jagger singer, who competed in the 2010 series of the show, posted a message earlier today wishing her mum a happy birthday.
The 18-year-old said: “Its mamma lloyds birthday!!! Love you mum! Xxxx [sic].” A user calling himself Anthony then replied with a nasty message which read: "Shut the f*** up before I kill your mum in front of you."
The user’s account and the message have now been deleted, but an infuriated Cher responded to him, saying: “I'm sure you'd go to jail for that, and get into deep s*** for a threat like that, come on think about it dumb a**.”
She then followed up with another Tweet, which said: “I don't know why I let silly things like that get to me. I'm only human... I think? Hahaha!”
Meanwhile Cher has admitted that she’d love to have been mentored by new X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos because she’s “cool” and could “understand” her unique music style.
Hinting that she feels Tulisa would have been a better person to guide her on The X Factor, the 18-year-old told The Mirror: "[Tulisa’s] cool and could teach me a few things.
"She is more like me and would maybe understand my Swagger Jagger."
