Cal met Terry outside a warehouse on the rougher side of town the next day.
'Nice place(!).'
Terry opened the door and led him inside.
'Now look Cal, don't try any funny business with these guys alright.'
'Funny business? I don't know what you mean Terry.' They stopped outside an office door. Cal peered in but couldn't see anyone very well. When the door opened, Terry went in but Cal was told to wait outside. He tried to peer in again but still couldn't see. He could just hear Terry's voice, saying how they could trust him but the boss wasn't so sure. After a few minuets Terry emerged from the office. 'What's going on?.'
'He doesn't think he can trust you.'
'So...?.'
'He wants you to prove it.'
'How?.' Terry hesitated for a moment then took a gun out of his pocket. 'What's that for?.'
'He wants us to do a drive by today.'
'So where do I come in?.'
'You have to shoot the guy there after.'
'No way Terr.' He turned to walk away but Terry grabbed his arm.
'Cal, there's noway there going to let you just walk out of here.'
'Watch me.'
Cal walked into work ten minuets later. He saw Gillan coming his way so he ducked into the nearest lab. He didn't really want to see after what happened the other night. He peered out and she was gone so he quickly walked into his office to see her sitting on the couch.
'Your late.'
'Is it the Foster group now? I can come in when i want.'
'Not when we have a meeting with a very important client.' He went and sat on couch. 'What's gotten into you these past couple of day?.'
'Nothing, just Terry you know.'
'Cal... you have nothing to worry about.'
'I know, is just he was my best mate.' She placed her hand on his. 'I don't know where it all went wrong.' Ria knocked on the door.
'Hey, sorry to interrupt but someone left this for you.' She handed it to him.
'Who?.' Ria shrugged then left. Cal looked at the package and he knew exactly who it was from.
'Cal?.'
'Hmm?.'
'You Ok?.'
'I'm fine darling.' He smiled at her, it was false but she knew that.
'Ok, i'll leave you to it.' He watched her as she left, he had to talk to her about last night whether he liked it or not. Whether they both liked it or not. He opened the envelope to find a disk inside. He went over to his desk and pop't it into his computer, It was a video of his house. They knew where he lived, He watched some more and saw Emily going inside. They mean business. He got out his phone and called Terry.
'I'm in.'
Later that afternoon, Cal managed to get away from the office to meet Terry outside the warehouse. He handed him a gun and Cal knew the rest. A black car pulled up and he got in but Terry didn't.
'Terr?.'
'Sorry Cal.' He slammed the door shut and the car took off. Cal looked out the back and saw the fear on Terry's face, this wasn't looking good. They drove for about ten minuets then the car stopped. Cal looked out the window, he had no idea where he was. He rolled down the window to look for the guy Terry sent him an e-mail of. After ten minuets he came out a bar, half wasted. Cal took the gun from his pocket and paused for a moment, if he did this he would be a murderer but if he didn't they would hurt Emily. He took a deep breathe then fired, direct hit. He rolled up the window and the car took off. The driver dropped him back off at work. He then got a text from Terry saying the boss wants him in on the job and there would be a briefing tomorrow before they do it. Cal walked into his office, sat down at his desk and took out the picture of his mum.
'I've messed up big time mum.'
