angel, spike, tara all genius!

I appreciate most of it.. but sometimes I do find myself wishing he would lay off of the misery just a tad. Wash is a good example. Was it shocking? Yes! So uh, mission accomplished Joss. But why? WHY?

Wash was completely and utterly uncalled! I agree, I was pissed to say the least; but, yes I have but face, I think in the world of Buffy and Angel it works so perfectly. I think that it adds to the grandness of his stories and I love that I can look at a couple and there isn't an ending. Joss tried to do the happy ending but Amber was busy, that was probably the one time I wasn't happy but in all other cases;

Could Chosen have ended another way and fulfilled the hero's journey for Spike? Can Angel and Buffy be together and overwrite his past and quest for atonement? Is there anything else that would push Willow over the edge and give us a sad but fulfilling resolution to that storyline? Happy endings are, and I'm getting bitter as I type this, boring. If things worked out in Disney like fashion, if we always got our happy endings *Anya snicker* then the moments of happiness are lessened and the need to hold on to what you have is gone. Joss is heartbreaking in a perfect way.

I fundamentally agree with you guys. Spike needed to die, and it was beautiful. Tara's death was great.. although I heard that the real reason Amber didn't come back was she felt like Tara was too abused, and that she was "busy" was a cover-up. I just wish he had let up on it once in a while (Wash, Anya), not all the time.

hmm no i think anya needed to finally die also, she had been alive for how long? thousands of years, it was fitting she died like that but i didn't like the hells bells ending...frigging xander

Debs, am I sensing a very anti-Xander day (more so than usual?), nothing wrong, I'm on board for Xander bashing ;F especially around Hell's Bells and Becoming Part 2.

On Anya, I think I could have gone either way but it was in a way fitting that she died as she did because she ran in Graduation Day. It worked really well to show her characters' development from a demon in human form who just wanted to "interlock" to a person who was a "stupid human," fighting when she knew she should have run, when the odds are so stacked against you but you stand up anyway.

oh it's cause saul's just starting to like him and anya and that made me think about how i liked him and anya so much and then that made me mad grrrrr

yup i completley agree with the development thing and the way she died was just a warriors death in battle, it wasn't really a time to die in xander's arms and say love yous....although i wouldn't have been entirely displeased if xander has stayed to find her, that probably would have made me a whole lot more of xander liker

I know the feeling, I had a friend who was pro Anya and Xander (is there a ship name) Ander? Xanya? And going into Hell's Bells he was all with the happy shipping and then I loaned him the disk and his response was "Shut up...we will not discuss it....that bastard" Lot of grumbling and I, of course, was smirking

You guys don't like Xander either? And here I thought I was the only one :D He turned into a real jerk the last few seasons!

It wouldn't of been as great if everyone got what they wanted.

HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE XANDER????!!!!!! he is cute, sweet, funny, and just so lovable all-around. he is the heart of the buffy group!

oh and i would've liked it if spike and buffy could've ended happily also willow and tara and anya and xander.

Spikes_girl, you don't want to get me started, believe me, lol. Simply put, I think Xander is a judgmental hypocrite. I liked him at first, but towards the end of the series, he really started to just rub me the wrong way.

I can't even remember what I was going to comment on in the first place, I've gotten caught up in all your 'Xander-bashing' comments he he. Here is my two cents:

Xander is alright most of the time, he annoys me less frequently than Buffy does, but when he screws up he tends to do it on a monumental scale. For all his whining about being single (when he is single) he's a shocking boyfriend. And the whole, 'Xander is the heart of the group' thingo, I recon its just a nice way of saying he doesn't really contribute anything. He's a bit of a waste of space, but he is needed in the show to some degree to balance out the other characters.

Willow and Kennedy had a happy ending...I hate that!

I hope, at least the last season of the comics (whenever that will be, season ten is starting this month) will have a happy ending for the characters. One like Chosen, just really closed and happily ever after. But I doubt, this is going to happen.

Mainly for Giles, he deserved to have been with someone in the end.

Joss wouldn't be Joss if he didn't keep killing off the majority of the ships he writes.
