i'd say season 4, 5, & 6 are the funniest. they all have (who i think) are the funniest characters (spike, xander, and anya), and the funniest episodes are in these seasons: beer bad, living conditions, pangs, something blue, superstar, doomed, the yoko factor, buffy vs. dracula, the replacement, triangle, crush, intervention, spiral, life serial, once more with feeling, tabula rasa, gone, doublemeat palace, and older and faraway. season 6 also has the trio!

I'd have to say Season 4- there were a lot of really funny episodes and even the non-comedic ones had some funny moments that really stuck with me. In fact, I think the humor really carries that whole season. The romance with Riley isn't very interesting and the drama between the Scoobies as they grow apart isn't hugely dramatic. And the big bad? So lame. So yeah, I rewatch Season 4 just for the funny.

Because of the great Cordy & Xander banter and Angelus, Spike & Drusilla were also very funny!

then Season four.

I'd say season 3 because of the mayor, snyder, wesley and of course some great episodes like Doppelgangland, the Zeppo and band candy. I loved Oz' one liners too. But the mayor is just so hilarious.
