Buffy the Vampire Slayer Question

Which character(s) did you take a while to warm up to?

Initially, I found Angel to be exceedingly dull. Even with his redemption mission and extensive backstory, I thought he lacked depth. (And don't hate me for this, but it didn't help that I'm not a fan of David Boreanaz's acting.) It wasn't until Angel that he started to grow on me. And although he wasn't even my favorite character in his own series, I did come to like Angel.

Kennedy is another. Being a fan of Tara (and Willow/Tara), I didn't like when Kennedy starting flirting with her. But once I took a figurative step back and examined the character, I found that I didn't dislike her. I know that sounds like a lame statement. It comes down to the fact that although her character traits aren't all positive, she's interesting (and mostly positive.) And I don't particularly understand why she was labeled as a brat.

Dawn, definitely. I'm pretty sure I didn't like her character the first time I watched this series until the seventh season. That's around the time when she stopped being such a whiney brat to me, and actually was a decent character.

I didn't like Tara the first time she was introduced, and even more when Willow chose her over Oz. Man, I hated her for that, Oz is one of my favourite three characters. But while the time and the episodes passed by, I started to like her really much. I always liked Oz/Willow more than Tara/Willow, but I like both of them, they are my favourite two couples in the Buffyverse.

Joyce: I never "felt" like she fit. Many times I would see her as a prop and not a character. If they had fleshed her out I may have warmed up to her because to this day I still really just see her more than feel her and I've been watching since Ep. 1 back in '97.

Harmony: I pretty much hated Harmony until she became a vampire. Once she became a vampire, for some reason I can't explain, she became hilarious!! lol

The one person on the show I liked the minute they talked was Willow. She just feels like your best friend or sister.

Faith. I didn't really like her at first, with the whole idea of her "stealing" Buffy's life, and I hated her after she tried to kill Angel. I only started liking her/forgave her for that in season 7 once I'd learned that Angel had forgiven her (I watched ATS after all of BTVS, so I hadn't seen Five By Five and Sanctuary at this point). She's since grown into one of my favourites though.
