Buffy's Haircut- was it real?

In the episode where Spike calls Buffy 'Goldy Locks', and Buffy cuts her hair when she gets home...
Did Sarah Michelle Gellar really cut her hair for the tv show? Or was it just a wig thing.

She was wearing a wig. I can't remember where I read that but it was said that she was wearing a wig in that scene, besides if you look carefully, you could tell that the hair was fake.

No, the haircut was real; she wore the wig BEFORE the hair cut. (most likely Gellar got a haircut during the season and they decided to go with a wig)
