Okay, so i'm pretty bored and my shower plans were put on hold which kinda sucks caus i kinda need to be clean to go out. So I'm putting that on hold.
Anyway... i'm gonna share a story, and it's not really bl related at all, maybe i'll throw in somethings at the end. The topic of this article is phone calls.
Yesterday i got one of those 'who's this?' phone calls, and if you don't know what i mean it's when someone calls you and is all like who is this, and it's like come on you called me! so it went like this (and really i'm not always so bitchy but strangers on the phone can bring out the bitch in me) and it's no word by word because i'm not lucas scott who can quote things later word by word in a book even if i'm not actually there.
(house phone rings)
me: hello
them: hello
me: hello... hello????
them: hello, who is this?
me: it depends, who is this?
them: who is this?
(me getting frustrated, and mentally going dude you called me)
me: i don't know, you called me, so who are you?
them: who are you?
me: who are you looking for?
them:i don't know, you called me
me: no i didn't, you called me
them: i had i missed call on my phone from you
me: well it wasn't me
them: who is this?
me: who are you? look, it wasn't me.
them: but you called me.
me: well most homes have more than one occupant so it could have been my sister or my mum.
them: i'm just calling back because you called me on wednesday.
me: wednesday?
them: yeah
me: wednesday *chuckles*
them: yeah wednesday
me: three days ago
them: what were you doing wednesday night?
me: not calling you, it might have been my sister, do you know nikki?
them: what's her name?
me: nikki boladeras
them: um... no
me: well i don't know then
the: well what were you doing wednesday night?
me: see i have this thing called a mobile so i don't call people on the house phone so IT WASN'T ME
(random hands the phone to someone else)
new them: who is this?
me: who are you? *rolls eyes*
new them: well my friend got a miss call from your number on wednesday
me: it wasn't me, she could know my sister.
them: do you know a teagan (can't remember the last name)
me: no
new them: you sure?
me: yeah, she might know my sister.(i don't know one single teagan except for some chick my sister use to be best friends with, i diff sister, and it was like years and years ago)
new them: what's her name?
me: nikki
new them: nooooo.
me: maybe it was a wrong number or something, but it wasn't me.
new them: but it was your number.
me: but it wasn't me so... I can't help you.
new them: okay
me: sorry i couldn't help
and phone call shortly ends
seriously, wtf, you call a person and you can't even give your name, you can't even get to the point of teh phone call straight away to avoid all this 'who is this?' or 'hello' loop. seriously start a conversation you retard.
i don't know about some people but if i call someone and they ask who i am i tell them my name, and if it's someone i don't know or i'm looking for someone else i get to he point straight away. like i call tan's house number and her mum answers and i say "hi, is tanya home?" and fatima goes "yes, who is this?" and omfg i then turn around and say "it's michelle" because my name isn't national security. frustrating as hell, seriously.
then today i get in another phone situation.
so imagine me in bed (fully clothed thanx, because it's friggin freezing) and my mum pokes her head into my room (with out knocking i may add) and she tells me to call paul (one of my brothers) because the water won't go off.
so i grab my phone and start to dial his number just as the house phone rings. pretty much three diff people call our house phone a) nick's friends because she never has credit and can't text them back on her mobile. b) my grandparents, or c) overseas non english speaking telemarketers or whatever they are who have a delayed connection. which ends in three quick situations a) no she's not home, end of convo, b) MUM PHONE FOR YOU, and c)i hang up.
now imagine me standing in a kithen, i have the hosue phone at one ear and my ringing mobile at the other.
so i pick up the phone, its a radio station, sounds like it may be a survey, paul hasn't answered so i', like this will end quickly, i just have to say i'm not interested when they get to it. but then the dude says our number won something, this peaks my interest.
then paul picks up.
me to radio dude: can you just hang on a sec, i'm on my mobile as well
me to paul: hey paul, can you come over asap
paul: hey to you to
my mum says in teh background: tell him what happened
me to paul: mum wants you to come fix our water, it won't turn off
paul: ok i'll be there as soon as i can
me to paul: thanks, see ya soon, bye
me to radio dude: i'm back, sorry about that (trying not to laugh)
radio dude: *okay just talkinga bout winning something and then* are you the owner?
me: no
radio dude: is your mum or dad there
me: my mums kinda busy at the moment (still trying not to laugh)
radio dude: i heard you say your water won't turn off
me: yeah, she's outside turning off the main
radio dude: so you have a bit of a flood going on
me: something like that
radio dude: have you turned the tap as tight as possible?
me: yeah, but its still running.
radio dude: do you know what time will be better to call her back?
me: uh... later (ha, my mum is just gonna say she's not interested or simply not pickup teh phone, she never does, even if its her mum)
radio dude: well have a good day

i personally think radio dude was very nice, i'm surprised he didn't hang up or laugh at all. kudos for him. so yeah, paul's now here fixing my water, so i can shower soon which is good because cassie is now msging me so i'll have to leave soon.
to bring this article back to the oth world i'll tell a quick story about when i met my brothers girlfriend, Paul the good one's new girlfreind that is.
so candice is alot like me, which i kinda funny, she's a fast talking, tv loving, dvd buying, book obsessed aussie girl. who watches one tree hill so she's got my tick of approval. so she's over for dinner and teh whoel time we're just kinda talking to each other, and we've already talked about oth when later i get a message and my phone is sitting right next to me and candice goes "is that the one tree hill song?"
yes, when i get a text message i don't wanna be starts playing, lame maybe, but in my defense i like the song. so i look down and go "maybe" in a slightly shamed way, ad she gives a little giggle. the next time we met she asked for my email, hmmmmm, at least she would know what othbrucas4eva meant, but she still smiled at it. seriously i might need to get a new one because having to see that smile when the person gets to the 4eva part doesn't seem very grown up, and having to explain it if they have the guts to ask what it actually means... yeah, talk about shameful.
