Question: Is Naruto just going to sit around when Hinata's in trouble? Answer: hell no! This goes out to Robyn.
Naruto spent the next 24hrs fuming and planning. It was so unfair that this would happen, especially since Naruto had worked so hard to earn the peaceful life he currently lead.
After the Fourth shinobi World War, peace had settled over the five Elemental nations. Not only that, but they were more united than ever before. Unfortunately, smaller shinobi nations perceived the main five as weakened, and tried to amass power in an attempt to make themselves bigger and better than the five main shinobi villages. Then there was one fact all shinobi never wanted to face: true peace was the worst possible thing. If the world were truly at peace, all shinobi would be out of a job.
But despite all this, life was good. Naruto had his old friends, his girlfriend, and the Duo. But now they were gone, and Naruto was not just going to sit around while the love of his life was trapped in god-knew-where.
So it was that the next day after the announcement, Naruto dropped a discreet note to all of his old teammates. Afterwards, he stood by the entrance of the village and waited.
Before long, they all showed up: Ino, Choji, Shikamaru, Kiba/Akamaru, Shino, Sasuke, Sakura, Sai, Tenten, Neji, and Lee. "So. Despite what the Godaime said, you're going to do it anyway," Shikamaru stated flatly from where he was standing.
"Of course I am!" Naruto shouted. "Hinata's in trouble, and I'm not just going to stand around. But the Duo are just as important to me, because they are my teammates. I'm going whether anyone wants me to or not. So let me ask you all this: are you coming or not?"
There was a pause as the eleven shinobi considered what Naruto had said. The first one to step forward was Sai. "I must admit, I am not that familiar with smile and trap," Sai began, stating his nicknames for Kiyori and Kimiko respectively, "But since trap has come to this village, I have my peace of mind now that miss ugly blonde is no longer bothering me, and I'm sure Emo feels the same way. I will lend my support." Despite the nickname Sasuke nodded in agreement, and Ino spared a moment to feel deeply offended.
Next up was Kiba. He conversed for a bit with Shino before turning to the crowd. "One of the first things they pounded into my head," he growled, "Was loyalty to the pack. Well, Shino and I have long since felt that Hinata-chan was part of the pack. But we have extended the same respect to the Duo. Never until now have I seen someone so devoted to their loved ones before I met Kiyori. Kimiko is the same, in a way. So Shino and I will go." Akamaru barked in agreement to all aforementioned statements.
Naruto began to smile. So far, so good.
Sasuke and Sakura stepped up next. "I will lend a hand for the same reasons that Sai has mentioned," he muttered before stepping down. "Don't be so insensitive, "Sasuke-kun!" Sakura chastised. "I will help too. Kiyori may be have grabbed my breasts once, but other than that he isn't a complete pervert like other people." Naruto hung his head. "And…I believe that in Kimi-chan Ino-pig has finally found someone who is good for her." Sakura sent an affectionate glance at her best friend, who stuck her tongue in the same manner.
Next up was Neji, Tenten, and Lee. "I assume no one has mentioned my cousin since its obvious she is being rescued," Neji asked quietly. Everyone nodded. "Very well then. I speak on behalf of myself and my fiancé when I say that we will go. Both Hinata's life and my own are better off thanks to the Duo." Lee cleared his throat. "The Duo do not believe in the flames of youth," he said, "But it will be even more unyouthful of me to ignore a comrade in need. I will go."
Naruto was throwing little parties in his head. The only team left was team ten, and they would probably agree as well. Hinata was as good as rescued!
Team ten conversed for a while before stepping up. Shikamaru went first. "From one man with a troublesome blonde to another, I sympathize with Kiyori," Shikamaru deadpanned. Choji continued, "He cooks really well too, and he's really nice." Ino stood at the forefront, and all eyes were on her. She looked at everyone, and smiled. "And he's probably like that because of Kimi-chan. I really do love her. She's done some much for me…and she suffers when the people she cares about suffers. She doesn't talk about me behind my back." Sasuke and Sai had the decency to try to look ashamed. "But in the end, I am part of Ino-Shika-Cho. And Ino-Shika-Cho has made their decision: We are going!"
Naruto grinned his widest grin, and exclaimed, "That's all of us! Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
"Where exactly are you going?" Everyone looked towards the village exit, where a very pissed off Tsunade waited.
I don't know why, but I have the strangest feeling that Naruto-kun is about to undergo intense amounts of pain.
