She's the healer of the group. That makes her irreplaceable and priceless. Can she fight? Heck no! She sucks when it comes to that! But they still need her lol.

I liked her before she defeated her first hollow and became whiney. anyway Orihime's healing is much better then anyone on squad 4, she can bring someone back to life I think that is way more useful. And in latest chapters she seems to be getting strong & picking up some fighting skills. :)

Come to think that if any of the members of the Karakura team weren't "real", story would have drastically changed. If Inoue weren't in the story, the only difference would be no silly cry-baby character!!

Some time Urahara-sama said that Inoue's barrier ability was useless because the Arrancar did already know of it (plus, she can't protect anyone with that stuff when it comes to the heavy fights). Kisuke also said that her fighting skills were useless (which skills?!), we all know she can't fight. Boshi-sama (Kisuke) also said that there are people of the range of Captain Unohana & Lieutenat Kotetsu (plus all the fourth squad) ready to make that job, and they are also trained to fight.

And if you find someone to rise Ichigo's spirit, the answer is a small black-haired brave (and etc...sorry, she rocks!) shinigami girl; who, in Inoue's words, is special for Ichigo.

She's hardly weak and useless... The people who are attacking her must be butt-hurt, because Ichigo would be dead without her and so would several of the other characters. Plus, she is hot and that is a bonus. XD

No character is useless there's always a reason why a character in an anime because without her Bleach would be different and in Inoue-chan's case she heals and helps others and she's a good character on top of that so I don't think so.

Ichigo didn't even recognize her when he returned as a Vasto Lorde. If he were conscious, he'd have never hurt Uryu. However, coming back to life wasn't the good deal. If it were so good, then why did Ichigo end up hating that? Come to think even Tensa Zangetsu told Ichigo that it was a bad thing, it flooded his inner world. So instead of counting that as an Orihime exploit, count it as another of her epic fails.

Every time she has a moment of clarity, Kubo gives her a 180 back to the usual stupidity. It makes me wonder if she is "nakama" disguised as fan-service.

Trouble is, with this kind of poll, there are only two answers: one is not necessarily true and the other is much more nasty than it really needs to be. Orihime is a bit useless sometimes, but she is more than necessary to the story, just as Rukia and many other Bleach characters are. With an anime like Bleach, there are a LOT of characters, therefore, not all of them can be 'heros' like Ichigo. Tite Kubo is just trying to make a character that isn't a typical amazing, heroic woman, taht can fight and heal and do everything. All characters have faults - just like Rukia does, Orihime does, Ichigo does and even the great Shunsui-sama does. That doesn't make any of those characters useless, though.
