i am quite confused there. if he likes her, then he should be jealous of her affection for ichi but he is so clearly not. he seems to care for her like tatsuki does. so maybe they are just good friends. anyway, can't see orihime falling for ishida.

The key-word here is "potential". I think that there is a potential romantic twist that could occur but I also think that they are close friends. I cirtainly prefer Ishida and Orihime to Ichigo and Orihime mostly because I think that despite Inoue's feelings for Ichi, he does not return them to the extent that she gives and I think that Ichigo would be much happier with Rukia just because their characters match up so perfectly.
