Being a Woman Question

This is kinda an awkward question...

but is it normal to start my period before puberty?? I mean i dont know if ive started puberty yet, im 11, i started my period over a year ago and i always hear about people who start puberty when they're 13, and i feel like im too young but i dont know if when you start your period it means you start puberty. I know its a weird question but please answer.

Yes! When u hit ur period u start puberty! And don't worry about getting it at 11! We all get it differently! Maybe some of ur friends hit it 13 (that's when I did) others 10, and even 16! That means ur an early bloomer! U should not be worried.

When you start your period - that's puberty. If you don't have boobs yet; it's unusual not unheard of. You would've had symptoms that you wouldn't have recognized as puberty as well. Also, 11 is completely normal and is actually the average age for girls to get their periods these days. I was barely 11; while my best friend was 15 (lucky girl!) so you are normal. Some girls start at eight years old.

It's okay, puberty starts at different ages depending on different people. I'm 11 too and I started my periods when I was 10 as well. You've started puberty at a young age and that is completely normal.

You aren't allowed to be on fanpop at the age of 11.

Excuse me. My little sister hacked in to my account. I would delete this answer, but it's pretty helpful so I'm keeping it. And it's true

I began my period when I was 11, too. A girl's/young woman's period is a clear indicator of the start of female puberty. No worries, dude. :)

Starting your period is part of being in puberty. Your hormones start acting on your body before you even have physical changes. You're on the younger side of "normal."

Finish early? that has nothing to do with it, its a 28 day cycle depending on how long you go, (mine are 3 days) but they were longer when I started, about a week so it just depends...
