you shouldnt be terrified to use tampons but you can get TSS if you dont use the tampons correctly (i put a link below to learn at more about tampons). in every box of tampon theres a paper that tells you how to use it & how long to have it on, my tampons say up to 8 hours. you just need to know which size you need to wear depending on how heavy your flow is.

my first time, i was nervous but it was easy when i read the instructions. But when i had it on the first time i knew i had it on wrong, like i didnt have it on all the way. if you can REALLY feel your tampon while its on then something is wrong & it needs to be fixed, so i heard.

Tampons really hurt the first time. I didn't do it right, really, because I didn't read the directions. But now that I DO know, it doesn't hurt anymore, and it's useful when going to the pool on you're period.

Also, TSS is very RARE. I wouldn't worry about it, because these days, doctors say you can get infections from just about everything.

So just relax when you try the first time. Also, here's an article that might help: link

I was about 14 when I first tried tampons. I couldn't get it all the way in no matter what i tried, i followed the instuctions but it couldn't go all the way in and it really hurt.

I was using some my mom had bought and they where really thick. Now I use slimmer ones, so make sure you get the right size.
