It was a beautiful summer’s day, the trees seemed to be dancing in the breeze, the birds were chirping softly and even the sun was shining brightly. The island was full of hustling and bustling tourists enjoying a well deserved vacation; along with them was a big group of people who had come to the island to celebrate the wedding of their two best friends who were getting married on one of the most romantic spots ever, the Maui beach.
There were at least fifty close friends and family assembled on the beach, each of them eagerly awaiting the arrival of the bride. A soft purple carpet was laid across the aisle and on either side were rows and rows of chairs for all the guests. Everyone was sitting in their seats talking in hushed whispers about the wedding that was soon to begin. Down the aisle where the minister stood behind the dais was the groom, dressed in a black tuxedo with a smile playing on his lips as he waited anxiously for his bride-to-be.
Suddenly, a young girl of about twelve dressed in a flower girl’s dress ran over from the pathway that led from the resort to the beach and whispered something to an older girl who smiled and then nodded. The flower girl ran back.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please.” the girl stood up and called out to everyone seated there, “The bride is on her way downstairs now…” she finished and sat back down.
“The bride’s coming…”
“She’s such a lucky girl…”
“Today is her lucky day, they both are perfect for each other…”
Whispers like these and many more spread amongst all the guests as they all waiting with bated breaths for the bride.
A few minutes later, the musician saw a small line of girls heading down the pathway, and signaled to the other musicians to start playing. And so, along with the peaceful nature the melody of the music being played mixed in and created a feeling of harmony and love. As the music played, the girls drew closer with the flower girl leading the line followed by the maid of honor dressed in a beautiful rose pink gown and the best man leading her down the aisle, at the end of the line were three bridesmaids dressed in identical pink gowns and in the middle of them was the bride who was walking slowly down the aisle, a veil covering her face.
Everyone stood up as the bride walked down the aisle, trying as hard as they could not to continue talking. They all watched as the young bride dressed in a gorgeous white gown with a net veil began to walk down the aisle.
The music stopped as the bride reached the altar and stood face to face with the groom, the man she loved more than herself, more than her whole life. He took one look at her and knew that they were always meant to be. The minister began to speak and soon it was time for the rings to be exchanged, the maid of honor and the best man came forward with the rings and handed them to the bride and groom respectively. Once they had exchanged the rings, and the vows were completed, the minister spoke for the last time.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
The groom came closer and lifted the veil and looked into the eyes of his wife before leaning in to kiss her. Suddenly… *ring* *ring* *ring*
