I also like Code Geass, Soul Eater, Darker Than Black, Elfen Lied, Fate/Stay Night and BRS.

All! It so hard to choose just one so I'll go with all of the above.

I also like angel beats, durarara!!, d gray man, Baka and test, Ouran, and darker than black

From a professional point of view, and I am stacking my credibility as a reviewer on this, Darker than Black wins this. (and I consider it to be the second best anime I have watched in my professional opinion, only losing to Toradora, who's characters are untouchable)

Why? To be brief:

It has an amazing and inventive plot. (the best I have seen, especially in terms of uniqueness)

It asks what it means to be human, and does so VERY well done way

It has the second best characters, character development, character exploration, I have even seen. The main character, Hei, especially, is well done. So well done he actually seems like a real person.

Its sequel series, DtB: Gemini of the Meteor. The writer comes up with an insane idea and pulls it off wonderfully. Take focus AWAY from the main character of the previous series, and give the main focus of the story to an entirely new character, a young girl. This allows Hei and the world of DtB to be viewed in an ENTIRELY new way and makes it all seem even more real and human.

And fairy tail! But I've only seen the first 10 episodes of it but its great lol but soul eater will always be amazing in my opinion

@Knight_Sentinel I'm afraid that I couldn't get into Death Note. I tried. :\ Overall I would consider it good but not my thing~

Fruits Basket. I watch Fairy Tail and I like it, it doesn't seem to get me teary-eyed. Unlike Fruits Basket, it has more funny moments in my opinion and has more sad moments. Even when Acnologia destroyed Tenrou island, I didn't cry.

Also Elfen Lied, Code Geass, Soul Eater and Darker Than Black.
