Fullmetal Alchemist - a VERY good storyline, good characters, can be funny at times, 51 episodes. An enjoyable watch and my second favourite anime.

Magi - entertaining, nice art style, good characters, a main heroine that isn't annoying (this is very rare), funny. Almost as good as Fullmetal Alchemist, in my opinion, but not quite. I wish the female characters would wear more clothes.

Avatar: The Last Airbender - very interesting concept, great characters, full of twists and turns, really enjoyable. I know it isn't officially classed as an anime, but I thought it was worth recommending anyway, as it's so darn good and very animeish.
