Anime Question

RE: Whats the saddest thing in an anime that YOU have watched?

Mine first has to be when Ash got turned to stone by Mew and Mewtwo. I was a little kid at like the age of 5 or 6, so I shed a few tears when tht happened cuz I was like a huge Pokemon fan!

Also my most recent encounter was when Masami in Angel Beats, realized what her life was about and disappeared. Next to Otonashi, Yui, and Yuri she was one of my favorite characters! It was sad to see her go. And the song she sang before she left was so touching. Also, some people say she was obliterated, some say she died, but I say she saw the light.

What was your saddest encounter with an Anime?

My first one I can't exactly say I remember..the closest to first saddest scene I've seen in an anime was Lieutenant Colonel Hughes' passing in the phone booth and then his funeral where his daughter Elicia said something like "Mommy Why Are They Burying Daddy? he has to go to work!"..from FMA Brotherhood by the way

My Most Recent Encounter:Easily has to be watching Iwasawa-san's past with her parents and how their constant fighting made it hard for her to do anything especially relax..and once they took it too far and hurt her..gah that part really got to me..from Angel Beats By The Way.

well...probably, the saddest thing that i've watched is when Nagisa and Ushio died in clannad....

@Zmidy313: if only you have seen clannad afterstory, i say you need to prepare a box of tissues...i really feel sorry for tomoya.. all he wants is a family with him, but then, the simple dream he dreams is lost......
I don't wanna ruin the plot though....

Huhuuuhu.....watch this and you'll burst into tears...

My first sad moment was when I watched Maria-sama Ga Miteru. It was when Sachiko "left" Yumi and Yumi thought she had permanently lost her "Onee-sama" to another girl. (That wasn't the case though but I won't spoil it for anyone x3 even though I kinda just did XD).

My most recent one is complicated. If by most recent you mean literally a sad moment I JUST watched in a recent period of time then that would be in K-ON when Yui, Ritsu, Mio, and Mugi sing to Azusa before graduation but I had already seen that before when I first watched the anime. But if you mean recent as in chronologically based on the order of which I watched the anime shows and my first moment witnessing the sad event then it would have to be when Rin from Mnemosyne seemingly permanently dies when she gets pulled back into one of the engines of an airplane. =< It was actually more sad seeing Mimi walk away from the office building in the rain with Ginta than actually watching Rin die XD. Unfortunately I can't find an image for it and don't really feel like making a screencap myself ._.

I can easily say Clannad-Clannad After Story and Angel Beats!
Clannad has such a touching and sad plot/story, which brings me to tears every time I watch it..It represents kind characters who always go through such difficult situations especially Okazaki, wow ..he went through a lot in the After story part...

Then Angel Beats! was so sad and touching the last episodes, especially the one with Yui and the last one with Otonashi and Kanade...I cried my eyes out..I totally needed a box of tissues ...

IKR! I was so sad when Yui found her peace. Well I wanted her to find peace, but I missed her not being there. And her story of when she lived was so sad.
