What's an anime couple who's story or background made you cry?

Marco and Ai's story from Mirai Nikki was really sad but it showed how much they love each other and how much they cared for each other.

In real life that war wasn't like that, both sides had enough with each other and killed thousands of people. So yeah they're both sad, but different kinds of sads.
