What's Your Top 3 Saddest Anime/Manga?

I havent seen many truly sad ones, but I'll have to say that Wolf's Rain was the saddest anime out of all the animes I've seen. Naruto Shippuden, is actually pretty depressing. The farther you go into Shippuden, the more sophisticated and sad it becomes, so I guess that could be number two.

2. Air
3. Full Moon Wo Sagashite

1) Fullmetal= cried in every episode
2) Romeo x Juliet= bawled at the end
3) Pokemon= Yes I know I'm a dork for crying at Pokemon, but that show had some pretty sad episodes.

Since I can't choose between them (and I haven't read the mangas of some animes here), I'll make two lists. One for Mangas and one for Animes. Hope that's fine with you.

Clannad and H2o Share 1st place, so I'll add one more as in 4th place

- Ga-Rei-Zero

Anyway, people I've watched/read it with cried, so I hope that's enough to make you consider reading/watching them.

1. Angel Beats- anime (didn't read the manga)
2. Spiral- Manga ending/anime ending

That's pretty much it. No need for words how Angel Beats was sad. It just is. The ending for Spiral manga and anime was different actually. For the anime, I was crying a little b/c it ended. I mean, I didn't like it that much but the way it ended was sad. I was crying at the manga at *SPOILER* Hiyono and Ayumi's departation. *SPOILER END*

I dont really have any anime that i find that sad, so my top 3 saddest manga are definitely:

- Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan (image)
- Kon no Ki Konoha
- Escape (by Miyamoto Kano)

Well they aren't really sad animes but the parts that I'm picking are sad.

1)Death Note
2)Junjou Romantica
3)Vampire Knight

Death Note ~ L died (I cried)

Junjou Romantica ~ The part where Nowaki chased after Hiro-san through the school and they had that long, sad talk in the library (I cried)

Vampire Knight ~ Whenever Zero wanted to tell Yuuki how he felt (Didn't cry and haven't finished Vampire Knight Guilty)

1) Moshidora ( Anime)
2) Fruit Basket ( Anime and comic )
3) Detective Conan (Anime and comic when akemi die)

I hink 07-Ghost is the saddest .

Top Three Saddest Manga Series -
1 ~ Elfen Lied (Stayed up an entire night sobbing after I finished it)
2 ~ Puella Magi Madoka Magica (Granted that I got really emotional during the anime as well, the last book made me sob, especially in chapter 10)
3 ~ Deep Love: The Story of Ayu (It was just so emotional, especially when I learned Yoshiyuki's grandma's past)

Top Three Saddest Anime Series -
1 ~ Air (Saddest series to me, I got emotional during every arc and bawled in the finale) __picture__
2 ~ Code Geass : Lelouch of the Rebellion (I got quite emotional during two death scenes in the second season.)
3 ~ Eflen Lied (Yeah, even though I cried more in the manga, this anime killed me during the finale)

If your going for a one-shot manga..
I would recommend:

- Asa Chun! (The 2nd Chapter)
Cuz the the first chapter is a totally different story and this manga has like about 4 chapters with 4 different stories separate*

But if your going for long story Sad Manga it would be:

- Dance in the Vampire bund
It's a supernatural as it says on the title, but I would really say that this manga had made me cry a whole lot of times.
The sad scenes are on the chapters 43 till the end.*

- Clannad TT-TT (really just speechless bout that)

- Air Koi (few chapters)

Can't remember exactly all of the sad Mangas I read.. Cos I usually read a lot of Tragedy and Sad Slice of Life like that.

Truthfully Clannad is the most saddest anime I have ever watched, almost to the point that I couldn't cry no more because it was just too sad. Other animes such as Naruto, Fairy Tail and Tokyo Mew Mew made me cry but only some episodes. Fruits Basket made me sad and happy.....XD
