I prefer Anime better then Manga. It has good animation and the scenes from the Manga are animated so they can be shown on TV. Manga is basically a graphic novel book that can be read. Anime is a lot cooler then Manga because the scenes are animated and some of the Manga scenes are changed. Manga is quite boring, while Anime is awesome and epic seeing that the Manga version was made into an Anime so it can be watched. I prefer Anime much more due to the Graphics, Animation and Scenes. Manga is just the anime as a Graphic Novel. Anime shows much better scenes and it has good music and opening themes to it too.
So yeah. I adore Anime more then Manga. Manga is good, but Anime is better.
Another reason why I like manga more is that it is the original thing; the mangaka drew and wrote it by his or herself, and nothing has been altered. There are few things worse than completing a manga and eagerly looking forward to watching an anime, only to find that the characters or storyline have been changed according to the director's tastes. Imagination plays a big part of it too; when you read a manga, you get the great artwork, yet just like as if you were reading a book you can kind of hear the characters' voices in your head, so you sort of get kind of a private cinema experience! There are also some scenes and images which, in subtle ways, just can't quite be captured in the same way when animated; whether it's the lack of colour or imagination I don't know, but somehow they just have a different feel. I also personally feel the manga-only fanbases aren't quite as big and aggressive as some of the anime ones, and seem a bit friendlier in ways; perhaps because there aren't quite so many readers as there are watchers. And there are many mangas which haven't been made into animes; take Yotsuba@!, for example, or Hirameki Hatsume-Chan. They're both very funny and great to read, yet for popularity reasons or due to the mangaka's own decision, they would never have been published had the fans been only interested in anime.
Don't get me wrong; anime, along with all forms of filming and animation, is an art form in itself. But for me, manga has a quiet and understated magic of its own. It's the excitement of finding the latest volume at a bookshop after waiting months for its release, the elation of discovering the entire Fruits Basket series on a shelf at the local library, the comfort of sitting in bed with a cup of coffee, engrossed in the artwork and storyline. Somewhat expensive, yes, and some mangas are hard to find in bookstores, but for me they are worth every penny and since discovering manga, I have also found my own artwork to have improved in many ways, and has inspired me to want to be a mangaka myself someday.
Frankly, I prefer series that are both anime and manga so I can enjoy both forms if I so wish, choosing which I like better. That was the case for To Aru Kagaku no Railgun and Tsubasa Chronicles. I'm just not decisive enough to choose one form over the other in a general way,
Overall, I just really prefer manga because in manga there will usually be so much more detail within it that they didn't have room for in the anime. So when I read manga I feel as though I get a better grasp on the plot and characters.
Other then that, I thunk you're the only one here who has voted for Anime (Apart from me XD)
fushigi yuugi genkaiden, alice 19th, absolute boyfriend, and god child.none of these were ever made into an anime. yes absolute boyfriend had a live action but that's different. all of these mangas were really good, but because of popularity and other reasons they were never mad into an anime. now, if i only ever watched anime, i never would have found out about these mangas. anime is good to though. it has all these differant kinds filming and animation but once again i just feel that mangas better.
So it's manga all the way for me. And I've found that if I read the manga of a series first I can't bring myself to watch the anime adaptation while I can easily read the manga after watching the anime adaptation.
