I don't see why many people like Hetalia. It is quite funny and good, but it's spoofing WW2, a real life event. The characters are quite good, but they are all named after various countries in the world. Hetalia might be a very popular anime, but I don't bother watching Hetalia, even though many people like it. Give me a good opinion on why Hetalia is good and why I should watch it.

Hetalia is one of the BEST animes out there. It shows you how history went down in a fun humorous way. And adding in WWII making it more fun to learn than just sitting in a boring classroom. You'd get to see how the countries act like if they were real people. I think it's very clever how the characters are named after countries. I think this anime is genius. It makes people eager to learn about history and they're learning it even if they don't know it.

It's also easy to watch with each episode only being 5 minutes long. I thought it'd be a terrible thing but that's the more genius of it. An amazing hilarious little scenes in 5 minutes. That's what I'd call genius.

Also the art style is adorable and the characters really come to "life". The country stereotypes are hilarious and people from that country could agree. Even if it's exaggerated and goofy it's so funny.

My favorite anime~ ^ ^ <3
To be truthful, I could write a book for all of the reasons I love this show. The colorful cast of characters, you really can't help but love. Each one is so well put together and there's more to them then just stereotypes. So far there's over 50 characters throughout the anime and manga, and what surprises me is that despite there being so many each one is so unique. Every single character I find I can connect to and find something in common with. The whole concept of Hetalia I find to be creative and clever. When I first started watching it, I will admit, I was confused out of my mind and it was hard for me to grasp on to. XD But then once I got use to all the randomness and understood it better, I became obsessed with it. It's impossible to be sad when I watch it. Everything about it is just so fun and silly I can't help but feel happy and laugh. It's the one anime that has been able to make me laugh til I cry. XD The jokes are all so hilarious and well thought up. Not to mention the dub is the best I've ever seen. A lot of people call Hetalia offensive because it's stereotypical, but to be honest, the whole point of the show is to make fun of how ridiculous stereotypes and labeling are. It's so fun and silly yet, actually pretty detailed. If you research history enough you'll start to see so many references in Hetalia that go over everyone's head. Ask pretty much anyone in the fandom and they'll tell you that this show has given them a different perspective on history. To be honest, I've always liked history, but now because of Hetalia it's my second favorite subject. It tells history in such a strange fun way, it makes you want to go out and research it yourself. The fandom, I both love and hate. Sadly, there's a lot of people that are only into Hetalia because the fandom has so much yaoi, when Hetalia itself has no yaoi what so ever. But the fanart is beautiful and inspiring. Hetalia has a concept that may seem ridiculous and silly on the surface, but there's deeper meaning there and a lot of the fandom sees it and captures it. It lets you see the world differently. And while the show is based off of silly stereotypes, it interprets everything in a way that somehow gives you more respect for other cultures and the world around you. It's so clever and amazingly done and I'm so grateful to have found it. =)

Very good opinions EmoSasuSaku and Stella. They have very good signs of respect and information in them. Because of that, I might watch Hetalia. It looks actually quite good. What do you guys think? Should I watch it or not?

Eh? I tried to watch it just to see what the fuss was about and I was just a little bit boring I wasn't to happy with the drawing style (chibis), and that the episodes were 5 minutes long.
I'll give it another try one day, but no time soon.

I don't love it, or hate it. I've watched quite a few episodes and it is okay, but not really my sort of anime, to be perfectly honest. I'll probably watch it all one day when I've seen all of the other anime series I wish to watch... I do think that the history lessons it gives are good, but I just couldn't find it exceptionally interesting... A little bit funny at times, though. All-in-all, it's not terrible.
