"Sweeney Todd" soundtrack by Stephen Sondheim,
"Downtown" by Petula Clark in "Girl Interrupted"
"Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues in "Dark Shadows"
"Take my Breath Away" from "Top Gun"
"Elevator Beat" from "Vanilla Sky" (this movie has the best soundtrack, check out all the music there, won't regret)
"Legend" by Tangerine Dream in "Legend" (starring Tom Cruise)
"Love on a Real Train" by Tangerine Dream "Risky Business"
Music from Russian TV show "Kitchen" and it's spin offs (Hotel Eleon, Grand, etc)
For example, "Losing my Religion" by REM, "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas, "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer, "Wonderful Life" cover by Katie Melua, Bob Dylan's "Knocking on Heavens Door" and many more well known songs that sound the most impressive and heartwarming in the show scenes,
But almost all the ones I mentioned are well known songs that existed for decades before getting included in the soundtrack, yet I have two, purely movie soundtrack favorites, that are my favorite soundtracks the the world.
Dead Man Theme by Neil Young

Comptine d'un Autre Ete by Yann Tiersen from movie "Amelie"
