Advice Question

I'm a 12 year old girl and I think I'm gay. The thing is, I've always wanted to be a boy but nowadays I don't see myself with a boy or a girl. I have never dated anyone before but I think I'm lesbian. Please help.

I know that doing one certain thing doesn't mean you're gay, but I've had this feeling for a while and I have no idea whether I'm straight or lesbian or bi.... Only one of my friends knows.I'm scared to tell people as it could be a waste of time and I'm actually straight. But I honestly think that's extremely unlikely right now.

When I was the same age, I had already known about my sexuality for years. I knew something was "off" about me, so to speak. I eventually figured it out, and now I'm more content with myself than I've ever been.

The best thing you can possibly do for yourself is this: Don't stress about it, and let things progress. The more time you have to think about it without panicking, the better. Just calm yourself and give yourself time to think about it. The thing that helped me realize it was imagining my future with either a man or woman. It felt weird to imagine myself with a guy, and ever since then I've known that I'm gay.

Imagine getting married and raising a family. Imagine the scenario once with a man, and once with a woman. Which one seems to make you feel happier? Does it make you happy to see yourself with a woman, or does it make you happy to see yourself with a man?

I do hope this helps you, because I understand how hard it can be to not know your own sexuality.

Your being brainwashed by the media, my friend. Think about how a baby is made. Obviously babies can't be born without a man and a woman, and life can't thrive if you don't do your part.

I think you're being brainwashed by the media, thinking that the world needs any more people and that everybody has to be straight for others to live normal lives.

The only person that is being brainwashed is you. Joint adoption and gay marriage are legal in most countries now, even the tiny island I come from and that's good enough for me.

I have a wonderful girlfriend right now and I can say look for what makes you happy and if that person is the same or different gender tthen so be it. Now if you want to find out if your lesbian look up som lesbian girls and see if you like it. Then look up a straight couple and see.

I know what you're going through. I did too.

I have to say, just give it time. I wrote down daily life in a notebook, and if I noticed a girl or boy I thought was cute, I wrote that down. After a few months it was obvious that I was bi. Honestly, you just have to give it some time.
