Advice Question

I need help, because I think I'm in a voilently angry state.

We are on a family trip (my dad, my two sisters and me) in the forest. I woke up this morning feeling like crap (excuse my language if it's not allowed on this spot). The weather is pretty bad, so me and my little sisters are watching tv now. They have to watch Teen Mom, a tv-program I despise to no practical end. My dad is at the park store right now.

I hate forests, so I have an inkling that together with Teen Mom being on tv is breaking me up. The only reason why I agreed to actually joined the vacation is because I have nowhere to go, and we've been through so much crap already as a family. I litterally feel like attacking someone now.

I would appreciate a good, professional answer. Not just something like "I feel for you :'-(" or "hang in thar! ;D". Please, please take the time to write something helpful to me, because I really need it. What should I do?

Everyone wakes up feeling like hell sometimes, that's completely normal. To counter that i often do yoga or go for a run before i do anything else. This may sound wierd but when i mean anything else, i mean even before i get out of my sleepwear. It cheers me up for some reason.

If you don't like Teen mom, then don't watch it. I'm sure there are plenty of other things you'd like to do then watch that. Read a book, play a game, play patience with a pack of cards, draw or even ring a friend for a few minutes :)
I don't understand how you can hate forests, i love them, but each to their own. I think you're focusing on the negative side of the trip, rather then the positive side. When you catch yourself thinking bad thoughts about something/someone, why not try to counter it by also giving a positive thought. For example - 'i hate the trees as they're so bland'- 'but that squirrel in one is pretty funny'. Not the best example i know but it's all i could come up with XD

As for the attacking someone part - obviously you're feeling angry, so have you thought about putting on some music and punching and biting a pillow until you're tired? It doesn't solve the over-all problem, but it does give you time to think things through and burn off some energy so you won't fly into a rage at the slightest thing and get into trouble.
Try to keep calm when things get out of hand, if anything happens (like an argument) and you feel you're going to speak out of turn or punch someone, just say 'excuse me a moment' and walk out and solve it from there. Don't forget to lock the door after you (if possible) the worst thing for anyone to do is follow an angry person in the room while they're trying to sort themselves out and continue an argument.

As far as the tv goes today. Lay down the rules they can watch teen mom, if you can watch an hour of any programme you choose, and then you take it in turns from there.

I feel like forests are so isolated. Everywhere I look, there are trees to stop you. I'm not claustrophobic, but I feel locked up in a forest. It's why I live on a farm and love it. Farms have lots of clear space, and you feel so free. It may sound corny, but I kind of feel like a caged animal here. And I really don't feel like listening to music now actually - all I have on my mp3-player is rock music. Not very soothing to my opinion. As for games, I haven't got much to keep me entertained...

It doesn't sound corny, i feel exactly the same when i'm travelling around. I think you need to change your mental gear into positivity like i said. I know it may be difficult, especially when your mind-set is on the sad and abgry wave-length, but try to imagine the forest as not isolated, but as busy as the farm is back home. Which in a sense it is. You could create hobbies, like counting different tress or something or tracking animals. Apart from that i have no idea as i enjoy forests so i've never had this problem myself :s kind makes me wonder why i thought it a good idea to answer XD But i hope it gets better for you.

Yeah, maybe I should try to head out for a while. I like to draw, so I should try to take a notebook with me and try to try nature sights or something. I appreciate your advice, thanks a heap. ;)
