Advice Question

I need ideas/visuals for a costume...

Alright, so I'm doing this book report on Tom Sawyer. Yes, TOM SAWYER. [In Korea? I know, right?] Anyway, I need to dress up as him, you know. And I'm having trouble getting ideas for the costume. So...Ideas, pictures, and suggestions are VERY welcome. (It'd be nice if you'd guys answered by Sunday [9-12-10] or Monday [9-13-10])But, in advance, thanks for all the help! :D

Wear suspenders, a straw hat, and roll your pants up. See if you can get away with bare feet. Simple and inexpensive. Good Luck :D

Cool, thanks. Actually, in some pictures, i see 'em wearing brown plaid shorts and a dress shirt. Would that work too?

i'm not sure about the plaid shorts but the dressy clothes probably have something to do picnic an important but less prominent part of the book. The hillbilly look is more recognizable. if you have a dress shirt though that would look real period.
