While doing some research for a report on her school history, Bonnibel (Yep, that's right-Princess Bubblegum -Emerald) discovered something very disturbing. According to old newspaper articles in the Ooo library, before her school was built over fifty years ago, an orphanage stood in it's place. It was no ordinary orphanage-it was rumored to be haunted.
"Several children claim that they have seen a tall man in a black suit lurking around the orphanage," stated one article.
There were reports of disappearances, and photos of missing children were even printed in the papers. In each photo, there was a tall man with a blurred face, standing in the background.
Suddenly, Bonnibel felt that someone was watching her. She looked around and saw that she was alone in the library.
"Turtle Princess?" She called out nervously to the librarian.
It was getting dark and being alone in the library spooked Bubblegum. She decided to leave. As she placed the folder of the old newspaper clippings on the circulation desk, she got that eerie feeling again. Someone was definitely watching her.
She glanced around. She almost screamed when she saw a tall figure wearing a black suit standing at the far corner of the room. He had long, branch like arms and fingers, and no face.
She ran out of the library. As soon as she closed the door behind her, she was stopped by the library guard.
"Why do you look so pale, little girl?" the lady guard asked.
"Back there...in the library...I saw a man with no face! He was tall and he was-"
The guard shook her head. "Oh, it's you this year." she said.
"What do you mean?" Bonnibel asked.
"Did your teacher ask you to do a report on the history of the school? Were you the only one who was given this assignment?" the guard asked.
"She said it's for extra credit so that I can pass her subject...how do you know that?" Bubblegum asked.
The guard sighed and unclipped a set of keys from her belt. "They call him the Slenderman and he only shows himself to people who find out about him, children mostly."
She continued, "When the school was built, just like what happened in the orphanage, students began to disappear, but the school administration discovered that if they willingly offer a student each year, the Slenderman won't take anymore children for the rest of the year."
Bubblegum's eyes widened in terror. "And this year, they chose..."
The guard simply smiled at Bubblegum as pushed the girl back inside the library and locked the door from the outside.
