Hey guys. Sorry for the massive delay in this chapter. I've just been SUPER busy with work. Getting this close to Christmas means work is going crazy! So much catering for work functions :( Sometimes I don't get home till 11.30 pm. So That's my excuse :P

It took us forty five minutes to check in. By the time we got through to wait for our plane to board I had called Brooklyn to get her to cover for me. She thought I was being a rebel with Ian, not saving her brother from things that should stay in fantasy books. She could believe that. I suppose it was better than the truth.
“Grrrrrmm.” I blushed. My hands flew to my stomach. I was hungry. I didn’t realize I was. Come to think of it, I hadn’t eaten since last night.
“Come Kailey, We need to get you some breakfast.” Ian said as we walked to the food stands.
I was walking right behind Ian when I was hit with the luscious smell of freshly baked breads, bacon and coffee. I stopped walking and inhaled deeply and let out a sigh. It smelt so good!
We walked over to a stand called ‘The Salt Mill.’ It looked very charming and satisfying. I placed my order and we went and took our seats.
We both sat there in silence. It wasn’t an uncomfortable silence. More like we both had things on our minds. I couldn’t stop thinking about Hunter. I needed to know if he was safe or not.
Ian looked irritated and livid. I would probably regret asking this but…
“What are you thinking?”
“I’m thinking…” he sighed.
“What?”
He wouldn’t look me in the eyes. Something was wrong.
“Kailey not now. Please. I’ll tell you in St. Kanuka.”
My stomach sank a little. I didn’t like the sound of that but I was to afraid to ask what he was going to say.
The voice to announce flight times told us it was time to board.
She had a very professional and practiced voice.
We made our way over to the correct gate, checked our tickets and found our seats. We were in economy. Nothing to flash, but we would still get there the same time as first class. Ian was still angry. So again, we sat in silence.
I decided to go to sleep. I was over the silence. At least this would pass the time.
I woke up a few hours later. I glanced around and it was dark. There were hushed voices floating around the cabin. An Air hostess was passing pillows and blankets out to anyone who asked. I looked around and most people were asleep.
Ian had a little lamp turned on. He was reading some book. I couldn’t make out what It said on the cover. It was in some language I didn’t understand. He left the curtain up, probably to get the light from the half moon. It wasn’t much, but it would do.
“Have a nice nap?” he whispered. I looked up at him and he was smiling. No trace of anger left on his angelic face.
“Yeah. Um what time is it?”
“Just after two in the morning. You slept for a while.”
“Hm. What is that smell?” I just got a whiff of what I thought smelt like insects and smoke. Weird.
“I don’t want you to panic. And he probably doesn’t even recognize us. But there is a witch on board. I think he’s just going back to the island.” He whispered so quietly I barely heard him.
“What!” I said louder than I should have.
“Ssshhh. Don’t draw any attention to us. We don’t need it.” He said.
I shut my mouth quickly. I believed him.
I started to get that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach again.
This wasn’t good. That only happens when something bad is about to happen.
Ian looked around slowly. His head stopped and his body turned tense. His hands balled into fists.
This wasn’t good. I started to feel sick.
Hesitantly, I followed Ian’s gaze. I couldn’t see what he was looking at, until…
I had to do a double take to make sure I was seeing it right.
It couldn’t be. My mouth dropped open and I went all cold.
Sitting a few rows back was Etera.
I sunk back into my seat. I let out a slight screech.
Ian had to put a hand over my mouth to silence me.
“Ssshh, Kailey. No unwanted attention.” He said. His eyes were afraid.
This was just great.
