We will only get an end and no long story development, but less time decreases the chances for heartache with both together, after increased pain and problems happen before with only Damon awake (the “cure drama”, Damon repeatedly dying, Elena being threatened, …), what keeps me confident for the end, even more with all of the talk lately about Damon’s happiness and DE’s future together and Damon preferring himself human and at the same time without much Delena-related told or shown of the last episode at all. I heard that one of the executive producers wanted to have the future years later as the end of the story, while the other didn’t, and I neither know which one wanted what nor which wish was followed, but it would be a way to reveal more of each fate than would be possible without time passing at all, and I would like to see how the characters will end up after a period of time (especially with hopefully a Delena family end). over a year ago
