To be honest I believe that TVD couldn't have continued to go on without Delena being a part of it... Delena was once the heart of this show and everyone wanted to see Damon and Elena together and when that happened the writers ruined everything... They destroyed Delena in season 5 by making them toxic and ultimately the ratings dropped... over a year ago
