​Zayn Malik left One Direction on March 25th 2015. It was a dark day for all of us, but in this post-\'PILLOWTALK\' world we\'re kinda over it. Finally. Now obviously Zayn\'s spoken about quitting the band a fair bit since; but one thing he\'s never revealed is *who* gave him the nudge to do it.

Yup - el Maliko\'s now spoken candidly about who persuaded him to take the risk and go solo. Was it his parents? Did Perrie Edwards have a say back in the day? Um, nah. Not quite. It was actually an alien that made him do it.

Asked when he first realised he needed to break off from One Direction, Zayn quite matter-of-factly told Glamour: "An alien spoke to me in a dream."

So what does Zayn do when he\'s hanging out with old friends, then? "We do this weird thing," he said. "We communicate with words."

We\'re not sure whether Zayn\'s just totally taking the piss, but since he answered the majority of the other questions seriously (his musical inspiration being Michael Jackson circa \'Thriller,\' for instance) he might not be trolling us after all. Hmm.
